Ismene opened her mouth to reassure Mr. Huxley, but those plans were thwarted as her brother and father rounded the corner and discovered her. Myles began waving his arms frantically, ruining any plan she might have hatched to ignore them.

“Oh, there they are!” she exclaimed in surprise, hoping Mr. Huxley did not register the lack of joy in her tone. “It seems you have helped me to find them after all.”
