Sleeping Beauty

[NPC]

PROMPT: [Afternoon] A young girl finds a house elf unconscious on the pathway. A second sees her crouched over the creature and approaches, curious.

[Céleste Bennet]

Cele was excited for Spring to finally start. No more snow, even if she liked how pretty it was, and no more heavy clothing.  The almost nine-year-old stopped when she saw a creature crumbled up on the path she was walking. Tilting her head slightly, she decided that it wasn't going to hurt any to investigate. Hopefully it wasn't a creature that would eat her.

Once she got closer, she realised it was a house elf. Poor thing. She leaned over it and poked it's face. That should wake it up, right?

  

[Snoozy]

Snoozy rather enjoyed his outings and valued the alone time he had away from his assortment of siblings. He did, however, wish one of them would accompany him so, in case some mishap were to occur, they could rectify the problem and bring the both of them to safety. This day in particular brought this thought about, especially after Snoozy accidentally spilled a few marbles, slipped, and smacked his head on the path he had been strolling down. His body resembled a rag doll initially as the pain from stepping on the marbles caused his fainting.

After lying on the ground for a while, his consciousness began to return slightly, though not before being poked in the face by the bony fingers of some child. His head whipped to the left to avoid the unnecessary contact and drool began to pour out of the corner of his mouth. Snoozy made a few gurgling noises and muttered "Who... Is... This..." before falling back into a state of slumber.

The afternoon had been nice so far, she had talked her governess into escorting her down the park again - though it hadn't been too hard of a task as Calla had been restless in lessons and not too willing to listen anyways so at least here she was getting rid of pent up energy. What Calla hadn't been expecting to see was a younger girl dressed in nicer clothes than she wore and a crumpled house elf laying on the path before her. "Pardon me? What happened to the elf?" It wasn't an elf she recognized from around town. Maybe it was new. Or one of those that didn't come out often.

At least the elf was alive. Cele wasn't sure how to tell, but anything lying in a random place was most likely dead. She frowned and stopped poking the elf when he moved his head. Her frown deepened when he passed out again.

She turned her head when she heard the approach of another. She felt little relief at the appearance of an older girl. At least she wouldn't have to make the decisions.
'Do you think we should move the elf?' she asked the older girl. 'If he's where others can see him, maybe someone will recognise and take him back to whomever belongs with?'

  

[Calla Potts]

She flinched at being asked what to do by someone who was clearly higher than her, even if she was younger, but answered anyways, not bothered enough to deflect the prompt. "I'm not too sure touching his is a good idea. Last time you touched him, he passed out again." She looked towards the elf, frowning. It was clearly a house elf - and she was fairly certain it belonged to someone, it was dressed in the typical owned house elf fashion. "Do you have smelling salts? Maybe we can wake it up and ask where it belongs hopefully before it passes out again."

  

[Snoozy]

The faint sound of child-like voices slowly began to trickle into Snoozy's ears as his mind began to recover. He was unsure where he was entirely, though remembered waking momentarily to some red headed girl overlooking and poking his body. It was not a pleasurable experience by any means and he figured himself lucky that she hadn't tried anything else in the meantime--to his knowledge, at least.

As he was about to wake, the elf's nose began to tickle. A large sneeze followed and, much to his surprise, caused him to jolt upwards, momentarily lifting his body off the ground and smacking right into the girl who had been poking him. He frantically attempted to regain his composure, but his groggy state prevented any success in the matter and caused him to stumble backwards into a bush.

Cele recoiled as the elf shot up at he sneezed and hit her head. She hadn't had time to move and she scowled at the elf who was now in a bush. She rubbed the spot where their heads had connected. 'Do you think he's really awake?' she wondered, tilting her head and stopped running her head.

  

[Calla Potts]

She shuffled backward, slightly surprised at the sudden movement from the elf. Frankly, after he passed out a second time, she hadn't been expecting him to stir so soon again. Or for him to dart off into a bush. Where was he going? Calla's head swiveled then to face the girl once again and she frowned, shrugging slowly. "I'm not sure. Do we follow it?"

  

[Snoozy]

The bush wasn't exactly the most inviting habitat, though provided enough coverage from his assailants to remain hidden. His sneeze, he hoped, had dazed the girl enough to forget exactly what she had been doing or prevent her from seeking his whereabouts.

From this location, he stumbled slightly in his attempt to stand and eventually found himself plopped upon his bottom in a position level to the ground. His eyes warily scoped the area and locked upon the terrifying duo with intensity. Had they been plotting his demise for a long time? Or perhaps they wanted to inquire of his services so he may be of better use to them than his master. Either way, Snoozy felt as if their intentions were malicious and, as soon as he regained general functionality, would surely bolt given the opportunity.

  

[Céleste Bennet]

Cele nodded at the older girl. <;>'It might need help.' She decided. 'Help finding its way home.' She added. She would be scare if she was a tiny creature out and about around people she didn't know.

  

[Snoozy]

Snoozy's shrub house seemed to have been a suitable escape from the two presumed witches and he intended to remain there for the remainder of their untimely excursion. Surely they weren't curious enough to keep searching for him, especially since they somehow hadn't seen him stumble off into his current location.

No matter, they were just small, adventurous humans in search of some fun. If they were truly keen on harming Snoozy, they would have surely done so by now, and it wasn't as if they knocked him out in the first place--so far as he could remember. His head still felt jostled from the incident and began to sway to the left, unfortunately knocking into a small twig that rustled a few leaves. He quickly bolted upwards and remained motionless, afraid his big head had ruined the only solace he had.

  

[Calla Potts]

With the younger girl's statement, she plunged into the bush she had seen the elf disappear into with little regard for the sake of her dress and the tears it might acquire in said bush. "Mister house elf, sir? Wait!" Calla would call out. "Are you lost? I'm sure we could help you find your way home! We just want to help...." With that thought though, she turned back to the younger girl, realizing she had little idea of where any family with money enough to own a house elf might live in particular other than a key area. Judging by her clothing, she might actually live in that particular area and be more likely to know any names and homes. Calla on the other hand, kept to the middle class areas, the park, and High Street. "What if we don't know where it is from?"

  

[Snoozy]

Snoozy remained in his position as he listened to the little girl's plea. He wasn't sure if he could trust either of them, but her words seemed genuine and kind, not malicious in any regard. "H...Help?" He questioned in a low tone, still at a distance from their location. He needed to know whether the girls were the type to be trusted and would not relinquish his hiding spot for the sake of a few guiding hands.

'Yes! We want to help!' Cele said happily. The house-elf wanted to accept the help they were wanting to give, right? Surely it was because he didn't know how to get home.
