Claude Mr Lestrange Claude said perhaps I ought to write to you while you and the other boy are at school. He thinks it may help me remember something. I'm not sure what to write because I really don't know anything about you, only what you told me. I suppose if you have anything you want to say, though, you can write it to me. I am not sure if you will even get this, because I don't really believe that birds deliver mail. We'll see I suppose.

I'm sorry we had to leave so quickly when we dropped you off, but we weren't supposed to leave school. I'm glad to hear from you though. I hope you can join us back at school soon. It hasn't been the same here without you. I hope staying with Cash's brother is alright. I don't know him very well, but Cash trusts him, so I do too.
The owl post is very reliable, as strange as that probably sounds. I'm sorry I assaulted you with all of those things the other day. I was hoping you might remember some of it. I hope you do remember us, I mean. I'm glad you came home with us.
I'm not sure I like owls. Well, actually, I'm not sure they like me. Maybe I will remember how to get along with owls, or maybe I was never very good with them. I don't know.
Claude said I could use the library to study for school but I don't know what we study at school, so I spent all day yesterday reading about tribal magic customs in Kenya, and learning French. I hope those are not subjects at school because they aren't sounding familiar at all. Also, French is hard.

Your calling me Miss Sinnet is a little funny, we got out of that habit a long time ago. I don't however remember you having any issues with owls, just Cash's cat, but she doesn't like anybody but me for some strange reason.
As for classes, we took quite a few together and none of them were tribal magic or French, though I should ask to borrow the book on tribal magic, I would enjoy that. We took Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Ancient Runes. We used to have Arithmacy together, but you dropped it on me (just teasing, I know it can be boring). You also took music, but I was never any good at that.
I'm sure everything will come back to you, slowly but surely.
I'm sorry, but I can't really help it. I guess etiquette came back quick, or maybe I never forgot it. I may not know very much, but I know you're supposed to call a lady Miss, and I don't really know you. I'm sorry if I'm not the same person who left. That sounds strange, but I've this sinking feeling that I'm not the Eli you remember at all, even if I'm technically the same person.
I know that we were very good friends before because you are the only person I remembered in Singapore, so I'm sure you don't want to hear that. I'm sorry. I'll read up on those things you mentioned and I'll try to remember, I really will. And I'll try to be the person you remember, too.

It's alright, I forget just because you're home doesn't mean everything is back to normal. I've never been the most patient of people, but I'm trying. I'm sorry, I don't mean to pressure you. I know a lot has happened over the last month and a half, most of which we don't even know and I'm still adjusting. Everybody's still adjusting. I don't think anybody is or will ever be the same, but hopefully we can get close to how things used to be.

Runes was is my favorite class, too! You probably knew that. I don't know if I remembered or just knew, but when I went and found books on all those things I started with Ancient Runes, and I read the entire book yesterday. Claude has lots more I want to read, but I should do other subjects, too, I guess.
The book mentioned Curse breaking. I want to be a Cursebreaker. That's another thing we have in common, isn't it?
Things are coming back, bit by bit. I want to see if magic comes back too, but I don't have my wand. Do you and the boy have it?
Do I have other friends at school? You should tell me about them, so that when I meet them I'll remember faster. That might work, right?

Yes! We were going to become cursebreakors after we graduate and travel the world. Runes is the class we needed most for it. I don't know where your wand is actually, I will ask Cash though if he has it, I know he has the rest of your things.
Friends, you have lots of friends, there's Judy Hatchitt, she's my roommate, she's wonderful and likes to break the rules a lot. There's the Chaucer sisters, Blanche and Cissy, also my roommates, I don't remember if you were ever very close friends with them, but probably better than I am. You also have two other roommates besides Cash, Bluford Figg and Chace Bletchley. I don't know either of them very well other than that you and Cash call Blu, Sir Blueberry. I'm sure you probably have more, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'm the anti-social one and you're the nice guy everybody likes.

I remember all of those people that you're talking about, now that you mention them. I remember Judy turning the headmaster orange. Blanche and Cissy Chaucer are twins. Sir Blueberry is super awkward, and Chace is a prefect. I remember all of them, and I remember you, but I don't remember Cash Lestrange. I don't know if we were good friends or not, before I left, but I don't remember him at all and it's weird to write letters to someone you don't know.
I don't know. Our letters are just so awkward, and I keep thinking he'll stop writing, but he never does. I keep thinking about stopping writing, but I feel bad doing that, like I owe him letters since he was the one who figure out where I was. It's just so awkward, not like talking to you at all.

It'll come back to you. The three of us were inseparable in the fall, even after your injury and his concussion and everything else that happened. You guys are best friends, things will come back. He plays quidditch for the house team, seeker, I think. He likes to make fun of me because I don't come watch him, but you always used to go. He has a crazy cat, but I think I said that already. You'll get to know him again through the letters and when you come back to school things will be more familiar.
I know that's not very helpful, but I have faith things will come back to you eventually.

It seems weird that I still wouldn't remember him, if we were really such good friends. I trust you, though. If you say that he and I were friends I guess I believe you.
He said all of that stuff, about the injury and the concussion and stuff. I remember the Quidditch game a little bit--we lost I think--but I don't remember his concussion, or any of the stuff that he says we used to do together.
I even remember people I wasn't really friends with--I remember Figg, and when I went out of the house yesterday to walk around Hogsmeade even some of the shopkeepers looked familiar--but I don't remember Cash Lestrange.
But there's nothing I can do about it, you know, it'll come back or it won't, I guess. I did want to ask you, though, if you knew anything about my family. Cash said I never talked about them, but I thought maybe someone that I was closer to might know. I don't remember very much but I want to find them again. I think it would help.

I think that there's just so much to your friendship with Cash that maybe it's coming back slower because it's more important. You probably remember I'm not the most optimistic of people, but in this case I have to. I've been reading up on memory charms and they say sometimes that the trivial stuff comes back first, but there's no way of telling for sure. But you guys have been friends longer that you and I have been close, so I still think it will come back to you.
Unfortunately you never told me much about your family either. But family wasn't something we ever discussed because I don't get along with mine. I'm sorry I'm not more help there.

I think maybe the letters are not as helpful as seeing people in real life is. Maybe once I get back to school, I will start remembering things. I hope so. I know Cash is--well, I get this feeling from his letters like he's very weird about talking to me when I don't remember things, so I hope that I remember them soon, or else these letters aren't ever going to get any less awkward I don't think.
I'm writing to the school board today. I'll send you a copy before I send it so that you can look it over. Claude's helping my write it.

You're right, I think being around everyone again would be better than letters. I'm sorry everything is so awkward, Cash is a great guy, things have been hard on him since you disappeared. He's trying. He kept me from falling apart for a long time, he really is a great friend.
Your letter to the Board looks good. I'm sure with Claude's help they'll let you back in. You've been reading up on your subjects (you really haven't missed much) and I can catch you up on anything else once you're back. I think that's all they're worried about, is the academics. I'm sure Claude can make a good case too. It'll be nice to have you around again.
