Ginny was happy. Life was good. She made it into her house team whereas others, more talented, did not. Maybe it was because of her looks, maybe not. Anyway, Ginny was very happy about it. Not to mention, she was smug, because her father had no clue what Quidditch is and gladly signed her permission to play. She had him wrapped around her little finger. The blondes certainly had more fun, the Ravenclaw decided as she made her way up the moving staircase and to the common room. There, she spotted her fellow team-mate who seemed to be… out of sorts lately. He wasn’t his usual flirty self and that made the blonde said, because she liked this little charmer in him, even though she was immune to his charm, as she was just the same.

”So what is the infamous Islwyn Rabnott doing in here without a line of girls waiting for you to tell a story how a Queen was your great-great something, huh?” Ginny sat at his feet and watched him carefully to see if anything indicates what has happened. She was smart enough to figure it out, or so she liked to believe at least.

”Come on, what is up? You haven’t tried to charm me since… like the beginning of this term.” She raised her eyebrows higher and awaited an answer.

Islwyn needed to get out of this slump he was in, he needed to get his game back in gear, and start to get back to his old ways. But, Lisbeth Fizpatrick was still on his mind, still there within his dreams. Nearly every time he closed his eyes, Islwyn saw her naked body. He saw her withering in pleasure beneath his form. The look of ecstasy upon her face, mixed with a small hint of pain was beyond beautiful as far as Islwyn was concerned. That was one of the things that was bothering Islwyn, it was clear now that Lisbeth felt some kind of pain back then, and Islwyn didn't see it until now.

Did that make him some kind of sick pervert? Not even noticing when a girl was in pain? Did Islwyn get some sick thrill out of it? Or was he just too much involved in his own pleasure? All these questions and more ran through Islwyn's mind. It wasn't just during the day either, during the night while he slept, Islwyn saw the whole thing play out in his mind. At first it played out, exactly as it happened last summer. But, just recently, it had been changing into different scenarios, each one the same at its core, but happening differently.

Like last night's dream he saw Lisbeth, totally naked, bathed in a pale blue light, amongst a garden full of roses, and other flowers that only added to her beauty. Islwyn saw himself dressed up in some kind of warrior outfit, and it was as if he was a wounded and lost solider, being taken care of by a beautiful angel from above. The dreams were sometimes nightmares, and instead of being a beautiful angel, Lisbeth was a siren, calling Islwyn to his death with her beautiful song. Was this an obsession? Or was this love? Islwyn wasn't sure about anything anymore. The only thing that he was sure of was that he needed to get this out of his system, and quickly. Otherwise things were going to get much worse.

For a few long moments, Islwyn was left along in the ravenclaw common room, which suited him down to the ground, because he needed to try and sort out the mess in his mind. He sat on a winder seat, and looked out through the glass, with his legs crouched up against his chest. The young chasers elbows rested upon his knees, and hung at ease out in the air in front of him. Islwyn was about to leave, and go to wash up before bed time. But, before Islwyn could even move a muscle, he was joined by a fellow ravenclaw, one he was in no more for right now. Normally, Islwyn tried to charm the panties of off Ginny, because he saw her as a challenge, an equal that he was going to break, and conquer. But, after everything that had happened in recent months, Islwyn just didn't have the drive anymore, and the only thing he cared about was Lisbeth.

"Just because I have a reputation, doesn't mean I have to live up to every second of every day. Sometimes I just want to be left the hell alone, and not have every girl in this school chasing after me because they want to kiss me or want a fricking autograph." Islwyn's tone was very snippy, and even had a small hint of anger laced within his tone. The anger was directed toward Ginny, it wasn't directed at anyone or anything in fact, he was just angry for the sack of being angry. "As for me not hitting on you this term. Well, there are only so many times a jockey can whip a horse, before he realizes that the horse is dead. You've made it clear on numerous occasions that I'm not going to get into your head, so why should I even bother trying? Huh?" The question that he asks Ginny was one that expected an answer, and it was clear by Islwyn attitude at the moment that he wouldn't be happy if the question wasn't given a straight answer.

Ginny was a friendly and open-minded person and she didn’t want to intrude on anybody’s personal space. She tried to be as proper as it could, because she knew that crossing the line means she’ll be off the team and that was not something the blonde did not want. She worked hard to get the keeper position and losing it was not an option. So no matter how tempting things might have been, she would not cross the line. Ginny was a physical person, when somebody was sad, she hugged them and she wished she could hug her teammate now.

”Woah, don’t need to go all defensive on me right now. I was just joking. What’s the matter with you? Did somebody hurt you?” Ginny said seriously.

The outburst had been uncalled for, Islwyn knew that Ginny didn't deserve her head ripped off like that, no one deserved it. Ginny was just being Ginny, she had always been friendly, and flirtatious, ever since they came up into the later years of school together. Other than Lisbeth, Ginny was the other girl Islwyn would have liked to get with, in an intimate way. After everything with Lisbeth, however, Islwyn was grateful for the fact that it wasn't Ginny who was causing him to feel this way. If it had been Ginny instead of Lisbeth last summer, then things might have been a lot worse. Not to say that Ginny was higher up in society than Lisbeth, it was just that Ginny was more of a drama queen, and would have most likely spread said incident from last summer all over the school. At least Lisbeth was more respectful over the situation, and knew what kind of damage it would do to both of them if, god forbid, anyone older found out what happened last summer. The down side, though, with it being Lisbeth was that Islwyn was more friends with Lisbeth than he was with Ginny, which meant he had lost a dear friend rather than just a friend.

So, in a sense, it was a double edge sword. Although, never in his wildest dreams did Islwyn imagine that losing his virginity would have been so rough. If he had known back then what he knew now, then Islwyn might not have tried so hard with the girls within the school, and would have dialled down his charm. He also wouldn't have told every girl that would listen about his so called, royal Veela heritage. Islwyn had used that story so many times to charm girls, even tried it on Lisbeth in the early days of their friendship, he even tried it out on Ginny once. Both times it seemed as if the story hadn't managed to charm either girl, although, they still wanted to be friends with Islwyn, and Lisbeth seemed more interested in the young chaser after she heard the story. But, at times, it just seemed as if Lisbeth enjoyed mocking Islwyn with the idea, rather than using it to swoon over him.

After Ginny asked if Islwyn was alright and if someone hurt him. The young chaser turned his attention back upon the window, which started to trickle with rain water. As the heavens above the castle began to open up, and unleash the natural force of winter’s breath upon the area. The truth was that Islwyn wasn't sure how to answer the questions, yes he was hurting, but not in away anyone would understand. It wasn't malicious either, it's not like Lisbeth wanted this to happen to Islwyn. She didn't even know how he felt over the situation. Islwyn would have taken the time to tell her his inner thoughts, and feelings. But, before he even had the chance, they were interrupted by his younger sister, yet another person Islwyn still owed an apology.

"No, no one hurt me in the normal sense. I'm just...tired. I haven't been sleeping all that much just recently. I'm sorry I snapped at you, I didn't mean to be so harsh. I've just got a lot on my mind right now and it's something I have to work out for myself." Most of what Islwyn said was the truth, however, most of it was just a screen to try and take attention away from the real thing that was bothering him. It was evident within his tone of voice that something was troubling him, there was something there that wasn't quite right with the normally bright, and mischievous chaser. It was also clear that the issue bothering him was something serious, and not something that could be dealt with in the normal ways.

Ginny didn’t understand why Islwyn lashed out at her so badly. She could sense something was wrong, but she didn’t know what is it. The blonde was a flirt, she liked to play that game with Islwyn, but she really cared about him. She didn’t care about this precious heritage of his, it was all bullshit. She saw a boy inside who just needed some reassuring. She always stayed back, because he hanged out with that Hufflepuff girl and she secretly hoped she’ll make her now teammate happy. Something must have gone terribly wrong, though, because they weren’t inseparable anymore.

As he continued talking, Ginny’s face softened and she looked at him like at a lost puppy that needed her help. In her eyes he needed it desperately.

”Is that about you and that Hufflepuff girl? If you need somebody to talk to then I’m here. I can keep a secret and I know places where we won’t be overheard. Or I can help you write to her? I just can’t stand seeing you beat up like this. It’s like you’re a hot air balloon without the air. You’re grounded, but you belong up there, to the sky. Let me help you find your air.” The blonde offered sincerely.

When Ginny mention the Hufflepuff girl, Islwyn turned his gaze on her, and for a moment looked rather stern, and even slightly angry. Both Islwyn and Lisbeth agreed not to spread it about, due to the consequences that might fall upon them if those in charge found out that they had sex. Not only when the school dish out punishment on both of them, but Lisbeth's status in society would be ruined, and when she was presented to society, well, her choose of suitors would be limited if any at all.

Islwyn always believed it to be a cruel system, granted, it favoured the males over the females, yet males still did sometimes get the bad end of the stick, especially if they came from a family that put pressure on them to marry a certain woman or into a certain family. It was as if love didn't matter anymore, and all that mattered was how someone or how a family looked in society. Before the incident last summer, Islwyn didn't put that much stock in love. But, after everything that has happened, the young chaser changed his views, and now thought of it as an even crueler system. Love was something beautiful, something that blossomed in the most unlikely of places, even out of friendships. Islwyn knew that in his heart he loved Lisbeth, but he also knew that too much water had crossed under the bridge, and now he faced the chance of losing her, both as a friend and as a lover.

As Islwyn realized that Ginny didn't really know for sure what happened last summer, and that she was only making an observation on a friendship between him and Lisbeth. The chasers expression softened, slightly, and a soft sign escaped his lips. "I've already written a letter to her, and it didn't change anything." Islwyn's tone of voice was soft, and heartfelt. As if he was someone that had their heart ripped out of their chest, and would now no longer feel love or emotion again. Even though the place wasn't that private, the common room was still pretty much empty, and Islwyn felt he could at least tell Ginny a certain detail of the situation between him and the hufflepuff girl.

"Last summer, I went to visit Lisbeth, the hufflepuff girl, out in her house in Ireland. We were both alone, her parents and her brothers were out playing qudditch. At first we were just talking, you know about the upcoming school year, the recent qudditch world cup, general things really. Then one thing led to another and..." Islwyn paused, briefly at that point, and tilted his head back against the wall. After the images of the incident passed through his mind, Islwyn lowered his head back down, and just came out with it. "We had sex." He didn't say anything after that, because as far as Islwyn was concerned, there was nothing else to be said. As he waited for Ginny's reaction, Islwyn couldn't help but feel a little bit better, as if a large weight had been lifted off his chest, and shoulders.

Ginny was a good friend. She was capable of not only listening those dear to her heart, but also keeping their secrets if need be. The blonde always wanted for her friends to be happy. Even if those people didn’t necessarily view her as their friend. Same thing applied to Islwyn, whether he wanted it or not. She hoped he felt like he could trust her, because something was obviously up with him and it hurt her to see him so down. She couldn’t stand idly by and not do something about it. It wasn’t like her. In that sense, she was very much a Hufflepuff.

So when he finally started talking, she listened. She didn’t judge, it wasn’t up to her to decide whether it’s right or wrong. Sometimes, even though society condemned something, she couldn’t feel like this wasn’t as bad as they made it up to be. As he said that he and the Hufflepuff girl did something the society would judge them for she bit her lip, leaving a silence fall for a moment as she thought about what to say.

”Do you want to win her back?” She decided to ask after a few minutes.
