Gaius Malfoy vs. Ernest Mulciber

Priam gave Mulciber a short smile before going over the rules. His eldest was betrothed to Ernest Mulciber’s girl, so Priam considered him a friend. Almost family!

“Congratulations to both of you for making the second round!” Priam said cheerfully, before turning to the younger man. “Mr. Malfoy, please start when ready!”

• Had he not been acquainted with Mr. Mulciber already, Gaius would have seen the fact that the other wizard was in a wheelchair as a weakness. He knew, though, that the cripple was not to be underestimated, and so he quickly cast flippendo at his opponent, hoping the force of the blow would take advantage of the other man's wheelchair and send him flying backwards.

Part of the reason that Ernest participated in duels was because he hated being seen as somehow less of a wizard because his body was broken. He was still perfectly good with a wand.

He quickly cast a shield charm to prevent the younger Mr. Malfoy from knocking him down.

Mulciber swiftly blocked Malfoy’s attack.

“Round to Mr. Mulciber!” Priam happily announced. “Who may also start the second one when ready!”

Ernest began the second round by casting a spell to transfigure Mr. Malfoy into a ferret.

• Clearly, he had been right not to underestimate the unspeakable. With haste, Gaius moved to repel the other man's spell.

Priam grinned when Malfoy was turned into a ferret. Funny little spell, that!

“The round, and thus, the duel, go to Mr. Mulciber!” he cheerfully announced. He hoped that Mulciber would continue with the fun animal spells in the future.
