As nervous as Raz was about having Robert in his house where his mother was, he was excited about spending time with the younger boy. Once they were inside the house, Rasmus smiled tightly at the other boy. "If I grab your hand, it's because my mother's coming. I'll do my best to get her to leave you alone, but hopefully we can just avoid her."

It wasn't, of course, that Raz didn't love his mother; he did, very much. It was just that ... well, Robert would love her too. A bit too much, and not in the same way he loved his mother.

The idea was that with the first day of the Summer Solstice Festival upon them there was a good chance that the house would be nearly empty. Surely some of Rasmus's brothers and sisters and probably as much of the staff as could get off would be going. That meant less chance of getting caught, although when it came down to it the Mohrs were pretty good at leaving each other alone anyway. He supposed it came from his mother's presence in the family -- Edward and Donald were both fixated on Threnody, Daisy was focused on herself, and the babies were babies. That just left Mariah, and he doubted she'd be poking around wanting to meet his friend even if she wasn't at the festival.

"We can head to the library if you want," he said in a low voice, not wanting to attract his mother's attention if she was bored, "or, uh ... my room is more ... more private." He blushed scarlet as he made that suggestion, studying a piece of art on the wall as if he hadn't lived in this house for years and as if many of the furnishings weren't from the house before this one. They really were less likely to get interrupted in his room, but at the same time ... well, it was a bit of a leap from kissing in empty classrooms to kissing in Rasmus's bedroom.

”Your room is fine,” Rabbie blurted out, before realising what that statement entailed – or might entail. He scratched the back of his head while looking up at the ceiling, clearing his throat with a nervous feeling right behind his belly button.

He knew they'd kiss. He was expecting it. He'd been missing it and he wanted it. Still, the intimacy of a bedroom was very new and he felt slightly unsure about it all. ”Or we could still go for a walk... Whatever you... Ehrm. Whatever you want.”

"If you want to go to my room we can go there," Rasmus said anxiously. Merlin, he did like the idea of heading to his room, but ... well, it made him anxious as well. What if Robert's brother had told him about how two men were together? What if Robert -- well, not that Rasmus would object, and that fact only made his blush brighter.

He was letting Robert set the speed, letting the younger boy be in control. He enjoyed that, found it positively thrilling. And if Robert wanted to go to Raz's bedroom, that's what they'd do ... and if he'd rather explore the house a bit and find some hidden nook to kiss in, that would work too. He did think the library would be empty, but there were enough Ravenclaws in the family that it wasn't a guarantee. Still ... "If you want to walk around a bit, we can do that, too."

Robert really, really liked it when Rasmus was nervous for some reason. He probably wouldn't ever admit it, but it made him feel like he wasn't wrong for being the very same. His palms were sweaty, which he found really annoying, but he managed to smile as Rasmus jabbered on about their options. Suddenly, he felt very sure about what he wanted to do and after discretely having brushed off the excess sweat in one of his palms, he reached out and took Rasmus' hand.

”I want to go to your room,” he repeated, this time with far more conviction. ”Please.” His eyes twinkled with mischief as he smiled crookedly at the older boy.

The mischievous look in Robert's eyes made Robert blush hotly, and he squeezed the taller boy's hand before reluctantly releasing it. They could still get caught. "Come on, it's this way," he said; his throat was very dry for some reason.

Rasmus quickly led the way to his room, and once they were both inside he closed the door and locked it just in case anyone decided to just barge in. Then he stood there, back to the door, and looked at Robert nervously. Very nervously. He had no idea what Robert might have in mind; if the younger boy had anything beyond what they'd already done in mind then they were completely outside of Raz's realm of experience with boys. After a moment's silence, he said, "I missed you."

Robert still felt nervous. Very, very nervous and increasingly so as a door closed, was locked and he was left all alone in a completely private room with Rasmus – and a bed. His heart was beating frantically, even though he really did try to keep calm. It didn't keep his ears from burning or his throat from feeling bone dry.

Rasmus speaking up helped a little, though. A very insistant smile dragged the corners of his mouth upwards as he scratched the back of his head a little. ”I've missed you too,” he admitted willingly, as he started to fidget. ”A lot.”

He didn't take any initiative, wasn't really sure how to, as he just stood there, looking at Rasmus with a stupid grin on his face.

Rasmus worried his lower lip between his teeth for a moment, then took the few steps to close the distance between himself and Robert. He cupped the other boy's cheek lightly, his thumb lightly rubbing back and forth over Robert's lower lip.

"You did?" he asked, his heart racing. "Did you really?" Why was this so hard? Somehow Raz had pictured Robert taking charge immediately, and ... and well, that wasn't happening, but Rasmus still very much wanted to kiss Robert ... or to have Robert kiss him.

He took a deep breath, then kissed Robert softly. "I missed you a lot, definitely a lot," he said in a low voice. "And not just because I missed kissing you." He'd come to the somewhat reluctant conclusion that he was developing feelings for Robert, and the realization sort of frightened him. The last person he'd had these sort of feelings for was Eli, and that hadn't exactly ended well. Apparently he'd had more feelings for Eli than Eli had for him.

Robert's stomach did a backflip and his heart raced. It wasn't that he hadn't been this close to Rasmus before – he certainly had – but they'd been in a classroom, confined to kissing and light touching, forever in danger of being caught. Now they were essentially free to do whatever they liked.

”No not... Not just because of the kisses,” he mumbled, as he leaned his forehead against Rasmus', his fingertips tracing the other boy's jaw. ”I've missed teasing you and talking with you... Even being schooled by you.” He smiled, before kissing Rasmus back insistingly. There was that too...

Rasmus closed his eyes as Robert's fingers traced over jaw. He returned the kiss with equal vigor, and his fingers found their way into Robert's belt loops as they had weeks before, on the day that Raz had told Robert about his family.

When he pulled back from the kiss, just slightly, Raz was breathing heavily. He had missed more than just Robert's kisses, but he had definitely missed those as well. "Wow," he murmured. "I guess we really did miss each other."

Robert grinned stupidly and aimed a kiss at the corner of Rasmus' mouth. His ears were a little red, as he buried his face between the older boy's neck and shoulder and dragged him into a warm hug in the process.

”I don't want to do anything more than kissing,” he mumbled, embarrased and a little lightheaded. He planted a kiss on Rasmus' neck and sighed. ”It's too... I just can't.”

"We can just kiss today," Rasmus said, brows knitting slightly. So Robert had found out ... well, they could do that out later. They had all summer. "Whatever you want."

Raz rested his head on Robert's shoulder, closing his eyes for a moment and then kissing the other boy's neck lightly. "I take it your brother knew?"

Roberts fingers traced lightly down Rasmus' back and he mumbled a just audible, affirmative ”mmh.” His stomach clenched together at the thought of doing anything like the briefly mentioned escapades that were Ninians enterpretation of what boys could do to other boys. Probably, he'd never be ready for anything of the sort. Certainly not in a mere matter of weeks.

”I really don't want to talk about it,” he admitted, quite embarrased. ”But kissing is fine.” Rasmus kissing his neck was more than fine. It got him confused and made his lips twitch, even as his thoughts were still on the conversation with his brother.

"All right," Rasmus said, a bit confused as to why Robert didn't want to talk about it. Raz would be completely willing to try whatever it was that Robert's brother had told the other boy about, but it obviously wasn't something Robert wanted to talk about right now.

"So kiss me," Raz said softly, nuzzling Robert's jaw lightly. "We don't have to talk about anything. You can kiss me all that you want."

Robert was slightly stiff, uncomfortable after the suggestions had tumbled a little around in his mind. He warmed as Rasmus spoke to him, though, and ended up smiling considerably more whole-heartedly.

”All I want?”

His eyes twinkled a little and he kissed Rasmus' cheek lightly, while his fingers still traced patterns down his back. ”I want to talk,” he mumbled, as he kissed his skin softly, before finally reaching his lips again. ”And just... Be with you,” he pressed on, his mouth less than an inch from Rasmus'.

"Talk?" Rasmus asked a little uncertainly. Merlin. This was going to be so distracting; it was hard to have Robert right there and not want the other boy's lips on his skin, on his lips --

What had Robert's brother told him?

Trying to keep his mind off of kissing, and to put enough distance between himself and Robert that thinking of anything but kissing and touching was possible, Raz sat on the foot of his bed and leaned against the bedpost with his knees pulled up to his chest. "What do you want to talk about?" he asked.

Merlin, but he was looking forward to going out to the Hebrides with Robert. They'd have plenty of time to talk, and to kiss, and to do whatever else they wanted to do. "Are you going out for quidditch in the fall?"

Robert looked slightly dissapointed for a second, when Rasmus moved away and sat down on the bed. He did understand, though. He had mentioned talking.

For a moment or two, he regarded the other boy on the bed. Then he went over and sat down next to him, not touching. Just not touching him at all. He smiled a little and nodded. ”Last tryout, I believe. If this one doesn't work out...” He grimaced. MacFusty doesn't quit was practically ringing in his ears, but he managed to ignore it and reached out to grasp Rasmus' hand. ”We'd be opponents, you know... I'd have to beat you.” He smiled, a world of confidence in his eyes, as his fingers entwined with Rasmus'.
