History:

1856 — Mathias is born the first son to Mathias III and Cassandra Beaumont at their home in Chambéry, France. His father takes note of his fussy behavior shortly after birth. Mathias spent his first weeks exclusively with a wet-nurse, as his mother feared impending death. After a month had passed following his birth, the Beaumont family packed up their things and moved to England.

1860 — On a vacation to France, Mathias' first sign of magic appears. Excited to see desert after a long, boring meal, Mathias accidentally makes the cake float towards him; inevitably, he ends up covered in frosting. A second Beaumont child, a daughter named Dorothee, is born.

1862 — Francoise is born. Mathias shows signs of being protective of her from the start—far more protective than he'd been towards Dorothee. His interest in his younger sister perplexes his parents, though they eventually settle on the idea that his curiosity is at its peak.

1864 — Mathias is injured when he is kicked by a horse.

1866 — Oceane is born. For some reason, Mathias takes less interest in the third daughter of the household.

1868 — Mathias goes off to Hogwarts in the fall and is sorted into Ravenclaw. He shows strengths in Transfiguration and Charms, but has a tendency to slack off in the classes he finds boring (i.e. History of Magic, Magical Theory, etc.). His obvious prejudices fail to help him find many friends throughout his first year, though he does bond with a few boys from Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

1869 — Anais is born.

1870 — Mathias adds Ancient Runes, Arithmacy, and Ghoul Studies to his class schedule. He decides that he wants to become a curse-breaker—a career prospect that his father almost immediately rejects.

1871 — Dorothee joins Mathias in Ravenclaw.

1873 — Francoise joins Mathias and Dorothee in Ravenclaw. Mathias takes his OWLs in the spring and gets satisfactory scores. He chooses to drop Astronomy, Ghoul Studies, Herbology, Potions, and History of Magic, leaving him with Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms, Ancient Runes, and Arithmacy as his NEWT classes.

1875 — Mathias graduates from Hogwarts with five satisfactory NEWTs. Instead of pursuing a career, he chooses to entertain himself with academics.

1877 — The Beaumonts move to Hogsmeade.

1883 — A sudden illness brings the death of Mathias' father, leaving the newly-appointed patriarch in mourning and depression.

1884 — Mathias falls in love with a woman named Zephyra Zane. Their immaturity, however, leads to obvious complications. The relationship ends without even a courtship, leaving Mathias' heart tattered.

1885 — A courtship with a woman named February Lynch quickly ends when he realizes she wants him for no reason other than his money. He befriends a woman named Rosalind Pendergast, and finds himself falling in love for a third time. Gossip spreads about Mathias' "womanizing tendencies", leading him to stray from Rosalind. By the end of the year, however, they are engaged.

1886 — The kidnapping of Mathias' younger cousin and a demand of ransom somehow leads to a broken engagement. Confused and dazed by the events that led up to the severing of his relationship with Miss Pendergast, he attempts to put their relationship back together. A new wedding is scheduled—this time with much less time to mess things up. They are married in August.

1887 — Mathias' wife gives birth to fraternal twins on May 12th. They are named Mathias Vincent V and Marie Victoire, and Mathias loves them more than words can describe. Following the disaster at the Wizarding World Market in July, Mathias is left with a sprained ankle but is otherwise unharmed. Word comes of his mother-in-law's death at the event; and tragically, less than a week later, Mathias' wife suffers from cardiac arrest. Upon being hit by the symptoms, she drops their infant daughter, causing her death as well as her own. Mathias is left a widower with only his son.
