Lorcan, who died in 1879, was a semi-distant father working a low-level (security? maintenance?) Ministry job that kept him very busy but also allowed for him and Erin to send their children to school.

Erin Abernathy nee Murphy | Mother

Kieran liked his mother best before he figured out that Danny and Seamus were his half-siblings; she stopped that ages ago, but Fallon and Kieran were not thrilled. She was more negligent than abusive - leaving her children alone for hours on end, with the supervision of a borderline-senile neighbor - and her parenting methods are the product of her situation. Wet nurse. Kieran moved out after he got his O.W.Ls.

Fallon Abernathy | Sister

Fallon is a good kid. She’s a mediwitch/hit witch/something fancy that only requires O.W.L.s and lives in Hogsmeade, but Kieran catches up with her pretty often - even if she does judge him for his hobbies, yell at him, and otherwise nag.

Daniel Abernathy | Half-Brother

Ugh. Daniel. Too bold for his own good - and probably a Gryffindor, though Kieran can never remember for sure - Danny has always been a handful.

Seamus Abernathy | Half-Brother

Seamus is a quiet kid who frequently wanders off on his own for hours on end. Worrying.

In addition, Kieran had a few short-lived siblings and half-siblings.

The blond fearless leader of the activist group Kieran is adjacent to, this guy is the most frustrating person Kieran has ever met. And is also both fascinating and attractive. Life is hard. :(

Eileen Buchanan

Kieran’s housemate and best friend, Leeny gets him in a way that few people ever do. They met when they were both in Hufflepuff in school, and they’ve never looked back.

Probably completely off her rocker but, hey, Opal’s the sort of person you know always has your back.

Appearance: Average in size at 5’6” but ridiculously wiry in build, Kieran has brown curly hair, brown eyes, and eyes that look perpetually tired. He generally wears neutral colors in suits that are sometimes patched and frequently worn, and owns a pair of glasses that are sometimes-worn, too large for his eyes and patched with spellotape. Leftie.
History:Family Shit: Though they’re not as poor as they could be, the Abernathys have certianly never been well-off, and frequently resort to interesting (though not entirely despicable) means to make ends meet. They lived in Wizarding London.
1862: Kieran is born, the second child but first living child of Lorcan and Erin Abernathy. Lorcan, who is a something for the Ministry, is almost always out of the house, and as soon as he is old enough to be weaned Erin begins to leave Kieran with a senile quarter-vampire neighbor during the day.
1863: Though Kieran is too young to remember this, this year a girlchild is born to Lorcan and Erin - and perishes of scrofungulus scarcely eight months later.
1865: Erin produces another child, Miss Fallon Abernathy, very late in the year. Kieran becomes rather attached to the girl after she survives for a bit; they hang out with the neighbor together.
1866: Erin becomes a wetnurse.
1867: Kieran begins running errands for various neighbors for pocketmoney that he generally spends on small candies for himself and (sometimes; five year olds veer towards selfishness) his sister.
1868: Kieran displays magic by popping away from a bit of a situation involving a hippogriff in Knockturn Alley. His parents are proud, and Erin buys him a whole chocolate bar for his accomplishment. Later in the year, Lorcan is rendered sterile by scrofungulus because I have decided that can do that. K. But obviously his children don’t know that.
1870: Erin produces twin boys, though one of them dies almost immediately. The other is christened Daniel and is the child of Erin’s employer, though Fallon and Kieran haven’t caught onto that one yet. Lorcan makes “>:(“ faces at the baby, but does enjoy his wife’s raise.
1872: Another illegitimate baby, Seamus, is created. Kieran begins to suspect that not all is well on that front - his mother and father begin arguing, quietly and severely, whenever he and Fallon are out of earshot as soon as Erin announces her pregnancy.
1873: Kieran goes to Hogwarts clad in secondhand robes and tattered books, and is very easily sorted into Hufflepuff house. He quickly meets and makes friends with one Miss Eileen Buchanan, another Hufflepuff in his year, and they have been nearly inseparable ever since. Having had some letter-writing inflicted upon him by his neighbor and by his father, Key is capable of reading and writing, and he does reasonably tolerably in his classes - though his performance improves significantly when his father acquires him a dubious pair of eyeglasses. His favorite class is the ever-useless Art.
1875: Kieran selects COMC as his elective. That summer the truth of Danny and Seamus’ parentage comes out in a full-family row - a rarity, seeing as they mostly avoid each other through scheduling - and Erin also reveals that she isn’t sleeping with her new employer, (the previous one’s children grew up, of course,) which objectively does little to alleviate her family’s complaints.
1877: Fallon comes to school. Though this does produce a bit of a strain on Abernathy family finances, the fact that it’s Kieran’s final year at Hogwarts is able to keep them going - as is Fallon’s reuse of Key’s textbooks.
1878: Kieran takes his OWLs and does not return for his NEWTs. He gets a job he doesn’t particularly like at a struggling Diagon Alley apothecary. Fallon gains a partial scholarship.
1879: Lorcan dies under dubious circumstances that have Kieran half-convinced that his father just ran off. Between his wages, his mother’s, and Fallon’s scholarship, the Abernathys are able to keep Fallon in Hogwarts. Kieran quietly moves out to live in a wizarding London tenement flat with Leenie. Theirs is a purely platonic relationship, but given the popularity of simply cohabitating among the lower classes, they are rarely side-eyed even by people who suspect otherwise. The apothecary finally closes down, and Kieran spends several months working in a bookstore.
1882: Fallon finishes her schooling and becomes a [something.] Kieran is hired on as Gringotts security - the most stable job he’s had - and begins painting in his spare time.
1882/1883????: Two friends of Kieran’s drag him to a meeting of some activist group; he keeps coming because he genuinely does like the company, but especially because he enjoys arguing with their leader.
1884: The plague has things in turmoil for months. Kieran is genuinely surprised when he makes it through intact, holding a general belief that anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
WEREWOLF SHENANIGANS: As of October 1884, Kieran is a werewolf. 99% chance your character does not know. In order to avoid killing people, he spends the full moon chained to some trees with magically enhanced iron chains purchased by one Jude Abernathy.
Unless that thread doesn't go that way.
But I'll deal with that later.
Personality: Sarcastic, loyal, pessimist. So freaking loyal holy crap. Argumentative. Stubborn. Generally kind, good with kids. Dedicated, though sometimes it seems as though he’s more dedicated to passivity than anything else. Hobbies include: semi-legal dueling, painting, having some level of alcohol dependency, and being the guy who Knows Where to Go in London. No, seriously, he seems to have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of London streets, which is definitely going to screw Beanie over eventually.
