Let Me Count the Ways

There are two copies of this journal, in the possession of @'Tristan Michaud' and
@'Rasmus Mohr' respectively. They're both charmed so that if anyone else reads them
they look like they contain Potions notes. Also, they're probably partially in French.

Also this is just excerpts because it is impossible to keep up with them.

Bien-aimé, I hope you had a better night than I did. It looked like you were when I left the ball, at any rate. Worst idea of the night. I had to take Rat Boy to the Hospital Wing because he fainted and hit his head on the bench. Couldn't leave him to die, now could I?

Most of the others are sleeping, some are kind of just in their own heads, I think.

I miss you despite having seen you just hours ago.

I suppose, Dearest, that the ball was not awful. I do enjoy dancing, but I wish that I could have danced with you instead of any of those girls. At least I didn't have to drag the Rat to the Hospital Wing, again. If he keeps hitting his head then he's going to end up even stupider than he already is.

I miss you, too. I wish you were here in my arms, that I could be in your arms. My bed is so terribly empty. At least we can write to each other.

Perhaps we should dance together during our next tutoring session. I wish I could have danced with you, as well. You looked ... amazing. With those girls, as well, they looked good beside you. I had to leave a bit, truth be told. I did not expect the Rat to follow me though.

I don't even know what happened. One moment we were talking, the next he's fainted and hit his head on the bench. At least now he can't bitch about me calling him a princess since I had to carry him like one. And while I was tired too. It was disgusting because I would rather only ever have you in my arms.

I would love to dance with you.

I hardly noticed how the girls looked; I only had eyes for you. You looked so wonderful, so handsome ... I have to admit I was jealous of the girls you danced with. Except McKnight. Encouraging rumors, are we?

We both know I'm your princess, and Harrington just wishes he was. He probably arranged to faint on you.

Dreams of you are the best dreams, and if I could choose I would have them every night.

I only danced with four before I left. Was the rest of the ball interesting at all? It was rather boring to sit with the Rat in the hospital wing but I think I might have keeled over if I stayed at the ball any longer. I am not so rude as to say no if a girl asks me to dance.

Of course I couldn't resist the chance to encourage rumors. It amuses me now that I have gotten over being annoyed by them. Besides, she is a friend of sorts. That rumor is also a good cover for people to not discover which student of Hogwarts truly holds my heart in their hands. I wish I could tell the world how much I love you.

Alas, even if that were true, there is no hope for him. For you have captured me utterly and completely.

I also hope to have dreams of you. You will probably be naked in them, if I do.

I missed you after you vanished, but I didn't leave early. I danced with my sister for the last dance, because no one can decide that means anything, and I danced with a different girl for every dance.

I'm sure someone will think that I like one of them, anyway. I'd rather they know the truth, that my heart is yours, but I suppose someone deciding I like some girl or other is safer. Safer! I wish I could just throw caution to the wind and be with you, but the possibility that they would force us apart is far too real.

You will likely be naked in my dreams, as well, and they will probably also feature ribbons and being pressed against the wall with you behind me.

I am glad you had fun and I'm sorry that I made you miss me. I am always missing you when you are not near. I am missing you right now.

Of all the obstacles that could be thrown our way, being forced away from your side would be the most devastating. Besides, we're both much too good looking to waste away in a prison cell.

Merlin, my beloved, are you trying to arouse me when I should be asleep? Then again, I suppose one could say I started it.

Regretfully, my eyes are fighting to close. I am so very tired. You must be as well, my dancing darling. I shall sleep with your token of favor under my pillow and the ring you gifted me upon my hand.

I am only trying to make sure that you have the mot pleasant of all possible dreams, beloved. I am quite exhausted, and I am certain a great deal of that has to do with four delicious rounds of lovemaking being followed by dancing every dance at the ball.

When we have our flat, we'll have to be sure the beds have especially steady headboards. I imagine it would be difficult to explain as to why we keep needing them replaced.

I may have only had four dances but I also had quidditch all morning. Your massage earlier helped though.

Oh God. It can't be morning already and yet these assholes are up and making noise so it must be. I want to sleep more but I also want to come to breakfast for a glimpse of you.

My dreams were, indeed, quite lovely, for they were of you. It makes me extremely grateful for bed curtains for I surely must have had a bit of an obvious sort of expression in my sleep.

Slipping away for music sounds divine. We could get started on our project of altering my piece for you into a duet.

I'm fairly certain the bed curtains are there because the Founders knew there'd be teenage boys in these beds. I wonder if the girls have them, too.

As much as I'd love to relive some of those dreams, I'll just have to look forward to seeing you at breakfast, and then working on our song together. I'm not sure if we should leave your part as is and develop a counterpart for me, or if we should alternate taking the main melody and the counterpoint ... It will be interesting to work on. I've never even tried to compose anything before.

I could ask McKnight. That would make for an amusing conversation. 'Does your bed have curtains, McKnight?' 'Why do you want to know?' 'So I know which to crawl into.' I tease of course. The only bed I want to crawl into is yours.

I confess to not being sure of myself. We can fiddle about with things and see what works. Or do all those options. I certainly am not against spending more time with you.
