    Marcella Weasley vs. Margaret Spring

Ugh. One of the women here had married down, and the other was some lower-class girl. Marius was already bored and he had scarcely finished going through the rules.

"Mrs. Weasley is to begin, with Miss Spring to follow," Marius announced.

Marcella attempted an atmospheric charm so it would be sunny and warm.

Meg had literally entered the dueling competition just to spread her feminist message. She had no qualms about this shit because she literally spent like all of her spare time harassing people until they listened to her or managed to escape.

The dude who was running the duel seemed like a dick too, so Meg was extra encouraged to spread her message.

She took a little badge out of her pocket that said 'VOTES FOR WOMEN' on it and then attempted to charm it to sing/chant/whatever those words.

    VOTES FOR WOMEEEEEEEN.

The atmospheric charm created the illusion of warmth and sunlight - but only for a moment. The chanting of 'VOTES FOR WOMEN,' however, was loud and incessant. And obnoxious. But well-casted!

"Miss Spring takes the round and may begin the next," Marius said.

Get in! Meg was very pleased. LIKE SO PLEASED. She liked the chanting and mouthed along a few times. She very much hoped that she had inspired many of the female members of the crowd to want a badge. Of course Meg knew full well that a badge with a chant that was a little bit annoying would not suddenly make people think that women deserved the vote - but the chant stuck in people's heads! And if any of the already convinced people wanted to buy a badge that meant more money that could go towards making more pamphlets.

SO! In hopes of customers (although Meg was more than happy to give them away for free to working class women and young girls who couldn't afford it), Meg attempted to make many many copies of her badge by replicating it.

Apparently her opponent was very forward thinking. Marcella had nothing wrong with that but her chanting badge was a little disturbing, so really she deserved the first win of the duel.

She took out a quill from her pockets or whatever and used a charm on it so that it might write magical words in mid-air.

Miss Spring succeeded only in making half of a copy of a badge, whereas Mrs. Weasley was entirely successful. "Mrs. Weasley takes the round, and may begin the tie-breaker," Marius announced.

Oh booooo. Meg attempted to make her original badge very large, as to act as a sign saying 'VOTES FOR WOMEN'.

Mrs. Weasley successfully conjured half a badger, though it very swiftly vanished back into nothingness. Miss Spring's sign was obnoxious, but flawless.

"Miss Spring takes the duel and will advance to the next round!" Marius announced.
