I didn't want to bother you in your time with your family, but I would not have felt right if I did not tell you first. K. Fisk & I discussed this yesterday, and we have decided that it would be best if I put my name in the running for your vacated seat & he manages the campaign.

Should you object, I won't be putting my name forward.

I hope my letter finds you and your family well; extend my well-wishes to your daughter. Mrs. Ross says the same.
