Appearance:

All of Gwenda's features take a backseat to the smile that is almost perpetually plastered upon her face—one that comes easily and spreads large; not the delicate smile of a young lady but the unrestrained grin of someone who genuinely enjoys their life. She has thin lips and lashes, but large brown eyes of which she is particularly fond. These also match relatively tame brown hair that, as all young ladies should, she almost always wears up to some degree. Her clothes are fashionable as long as fashion does not become overly restraining, and are typically in light, even lively, shades. At a perfectly average five feet, two inches, Gwenda is in possession of a slender build. She is right-handed.

History:

1864 | Gwenda is born in Wales to experienced parents James and Morwenna Carmichael.

1866 | Elaine is born.

1867 | Tristan is born.

1868 | Gwenda’s first act of magic sees her (more ore less) repair a broken porcelain doll.

1869 | Though she is hardly close with her eldest sibling, Gwenda, who does not like change, is quite distressed when Gawain leaves for Hogwarts. He is sorted into Gryffindor.

1871 | Tegan’s departure for school is even more jarring, as Gwenda is quite close to her sisters. She is also sorted into Gryffindor.

1875 | At last, it is Gwenda's turn to begin her schooling! She leaves for Hogwarts, where she is sorted into Hufflepuff. She quickly becomes friends with one of her dormmates, Lona Carstairs (though it is rather one-sided, as Lona seems largely unwilling to converse initially), a friendship that eventually legitimately forms and intensifies over the years. Not long after meeting, Gwenda proclaims them "best friends", a fact that becomes true as time wears on.

1876 | Gawain finishes his schooling at takes an internship at St. Mungo’s.

1877 | For her third year, Gwenda chooses Care of Magical Creatures and Divination as her electives. Elaine joins her sister in Hufflepuff.

1879 | Tristan begins his time at Hogwarts, and is sorted into Gryffindor. In the autumn, Tegan marries the muggle Titus Sterne, a politician's son who seems to have no qualms about marrying a witch. They relocate to Bath. Shortly after the wedding, the Charmichael family sells their modest home in Wales for a much larger one in the Wellingtonshire neighborhood of Hogsmeade. Gawain transfers to Hogsmeade Hospital.

1880 | The arrival of baby Enid late in the summer makes Gwenda an aunt.

1882 | Tegan has a second child, Pryce, in February. In May, Gwenda completes her schooling and makes her debut into society; the following summer marks her first season, though is marred by the death of her paternal grandfather in June. Lona, not wanting to be a burden on her family, moves in with the Carmichaels and finds a job in Hogsmeade, which Gwenda finds horribly odd (though is pleased not to be separated from her friend!). She vows to herself that she shall see Lona properly added to the vamily—via her brother.

1884 | In February, Gwenda is introduced to a Mr. Llewellyn Cadwallader. Gawain and Lona enter into a courtship, and it seems all of Gwenda’s dreams will come into fruition—until her friend abandons ship and everything is ruined. In spite of her happy nature, Gwenda takes the severing of their relationship very hard, and severs her own ties with her former best friend. Gwenda’s father decides to run for Minister of Magic. Though he is ultimately unsuccessful, she is proud of his efforts.

1885 | Tragedy strikes early in the year and her father loses a leg. Tegan has another little boy, this one called James. November, much more happily, sees Mr. Cadwallader finally ask if he can court her, to which Gwenda immediately agrees!

1886 | Much to Gwenda’s eternal joy, she and Llewellyn marry on August 6th. As an added bonus, his wedding gift to her is a pair of abraxan.

Personality:

NATURE

Gwenda is most frequently described as overwhelming. Fast-talking, incredibly social, and almost frighteningly cheerful, it is often difficult to get a word in edgewise with the bubbly girl, and she endeavours to make friends with most everyone she meets. Though very difficult to get her angry, she is always set off by betrayal or cruelty towards those she loves. Though energetic and a lover of the outdoors—in particular horseback riding and gardening—she is every bit the young lady, and takes great pride in her reputation. Her dream is to marry a kind, handsome man with a home in the country as well as in town.

Gwenda is not a prejudiced person. While she appreciates that there are certain people she cannot marry, and certain people she cannot associate for her own safety (and that of her reputation), beyond that she does not discriminate based upon age, race, blood status, or social class, treating people as people—though she recognizes that everyone has their place in the world and does not try to excess to change these places for them.
