Appearance: Long red hair. Pale skin, made paler by the conditions she now lives in. Blue eyes that were once very pretty but are now slightly sunken. Thin bones that are becoming ever more stark through thinner skin. Daphne retains the vestiges of somebody that was once beautiful but her time in the Asylum and the depression that went before it have taken their toll on her features.

History:

1847: Born the youngest daughter of the upper class Lupins Daphne is a doted upon child, and a decade or more younger than her older two brothers, with whom she is never overly close. She loves them like uncles but the differences in their ages means she is closer to her nieces and nephews as she grows up. At the age of six she shows her first sign of magic when she makes all the daisies in the garden bloom in December.

1858: Daphne goes to Hogwarts as an eleven year old and is sorted into Ravenclaw. She is a studious little girl with a small circle of friends and her life is largely unremarkable. She enjoys her time at Hogwarts tremendously and never really thinks of herself as being someone to rock the boat.

1864: During the summer before her final year, in which she was supposed to be keeping out of trouble so she could go to her coming out as a commodity, she instead falls stupidly in love with a man two years her senior whom she knew from being a fellow Ravenclaw at school. For the first time in her life she is reckless and runs away to marry him, falling to the middle class as she does. However, though society might scorn her slightly, her family still speak with her and she is ecstatically happy.

July, 1865: The couples first daughter Artemisia is born. She is an unfussy child and both her parents dote upon her.

March, 1868: Viola is born. She is much noisier than her sister but no less loved.

1870: Cyril is born. Daphne is elated that she has managed to give Reginald a son, however, Reginald was scarcely likely to mind either way. Between Cyril's birth and 1876, when Artemisia goes to Hogwarts she is scarcely away from her children and enjoys every moment they spend together.

1876-1881: As her children depart for school Daphne finds that sometimes her mind clouds with worry about them, irrationally of course, but the need to be around them never goes away. Even Reginald cannot calm her sometimes though he is the one she listens to most of all.

1881-Feb 1883: Despite this, while they are away she and Reginald decide mutually to try for another child. They don't really want another child but there's no harm in trying many times!

March, 1883: Reginald goes missing and Daphne immediately reports him as such. There is scarcely an hour of the day when she doesn't know where he is after all - whether through a little note sent by owl or through sheer gut instinct - and she is deeply concerned. Her concerns prove to be justified when he is found murdered two weeks later. The violent nature of her husband's death scarcely penetrates Daphne's mind, and neither does it matter to her that the assailants are caught, instead she is shaken her her very core by the loss of him.

May, 1883: Two months later, in the grips of absolute despair Daphne takes a razor blade to her wrists. Luckily she is found in time and taken to the hospital to be healed, but the state of her mind means that she is soon sent away to the asylum and it is there that she currently resides, of reasonably sound mind now but still grieving and missing her children desperately.

Personality: Extremely fragile at the moment. A shadow of her former self. Extremely loving towards her children. Utterly devoted to her husband. Not remotely blood purist or bothered about class. Friendly. Quite charming when she's in the right state of mind.
