Appearance:

Age hasn't yet began affecting Ellie's appearance. While she does have a slender build, she has the body of a woman who's built for bearing children with slightly wider hips (compared to her proportions) and larger-than average breasts. She stands at the average height of five feet, two inches tall, and weighs around one hundred and ten pounds.

She has dark brown, naturally wavy hair that rests on her bosom when let down (which only happens in the privacy of her own bedroom). She prefers to wear her hair up in a high, elegant bun and fancy hat to match her outfit. Her eyes are light green, comparable to the color of mint. She dresses in only the finest gowns, usually ones that are in exuberant patterns and bright colors. Eleanor is left-handed, though she's been known to do perfectly well with her right hand when her left isn't available.

History:

1858 | Eleanor Amberden was born at the Amberden estate in Norwich, England. The sixth child in the family, she's one of four that managed to make it up until 1858—Charlotte and Norman Amberden both having died in 1853. She's the second living daughter, though she manages to catch her parent's eyes because of her dark hair and light eyes. The fact that she seems healthy from the time of birth is thought of as a miracle to the family, and she's immediately dubbed on of her parent's favorites.

1860 | The third daughter of the family, Hilda Amberden, is born at the family's home. Georgia, Eleanor's older sister, dies from dragon pox late in the year.

1862 | Early in the year, Eleanor's older brother, Lloyd, dies from pneumonia. While the rest of the family is left in mourning, Eleanor and her younger sister have no idea what's really going on and just go with the flow. Later in the year, Eleanor's youngest sister—the last of her sisters—named Maria is born.

1865 | Eleanor, for the first time in her life, shows signs that she in fact a witch.

1867 | Louis, Eleanor's older brother, dies from a nasty case of influenza. This once again leaves the family in mourning for the fourth time since their first child was born. Now old enough to understand that she's lost a sibling (especially the one born two years before herself), Eleanor spends time crying and being frightened for her own life for the first time.

1869 | Eleanor goes off to Hogwarts and is promptly sorted into Ravenclaw. This doesn't surprise her; growing up, she'd always taken pride in her ability to learn quickly and think on her feet. She quickly takes a liking to her Charms and Potions class, feeling that both subjects will be useful to her as a wife someday. Her grades fluctuate through her first year which could be easily explained as her trying to get a grip on her responsibilities.

1873 — 1874 | Over the summer, Eleanor receives a small envelope in the mail holding her prefect badge of all things. Feeling excited and even a little devious with her new-found power over the other children, she quickly embraces the position and vows to assure that she makes life easier for her own house while making it miserable for the other children.

1875 — 1876 | During the summer before her seventh year, Eleanor receives another envelope in the mail with her head girl badge. She doesn't surprise her family members and friends when she's quick to brag about such an accomplishment, but they do manage to be proud of her accomplishment. Through her seventh year, Eleanor begins to doubt her academic intellect when her coursework begins to get tougher; in the end she does manage to pull through for her NEWTs. After graduating, she watches one of her closes friend succumb to a doomed-from-the-beginning arranged marriage, causing her to doubt her wishes to be married right away. She shies away from her first season, causing her to be sent off to finishing school for the rest of the year.

1877 | After finishing her year of finishing school, Eleanor returns to her home in London, still avoiding the courtship process. Her parents threaten to arrange her a marriage, but using her daddy-charming abilities she manages to escape that as well. She spends most of her time in her parent's library, reading for days on end; her choice of books usually include books with charms that she never learned while at Hogwarts, books on magical theory, and trashy romance novels that have her hoping that she one day meets a man who she can trust.

1878 | The Amberden family packs up and moves their things to Wellingtonshire. During the same year, she takes up an interest researching magical theories and teams up with a group of researchers in London (with her chaperon around, of course) to study the subject. It becomes less of a job for her and more like a leisurely activity; she enjoys using her brain to solve problems because of her ability to think outside the box with a creative mind.

1879 | Hilda agrees to an arranged marriage with one of their father's closest friend's sons, something she doesn't end up regretting. By the end of their honeymoon she conceives their first child, and gives birth to a healthy heir by the end of the year.

1882 | The last son in the Amberden family, Julius, passes away, leaving no one to pass on the family name. While her sisters are married and could pass on the family fortune to their children, Homer leaves Eleanor, his favorite daughter of the small bunch, the sum of his fortune to carry on with her if she one day marries. His other motive for giving her the estate is so she might then attract a wealthy man to marry her even as a spinster.

1884 | Her family doesn't succumb to the plagues, and their home manages to escape the flames of the Hogsmeade fire; sadly, her sister and her husband's home perishes, leaving them to shelter them for the time being.
