    See Inside... Thread
    open to any hospital staff
Catherine was still quite thrilled with how everything had gone. She still couldn't believe she had finally gotten what she had wanted so desperately. She was interning, a fact that she was still wrapping her mind around. Of course, it wasn't all thrills and giggles as she actually had to do work after never having done any for most of her life aside from school stuff. It wasn't like she minded though, she had been ready for it. So far, she had managed to avoid too much interaction with any of the males in the place. It also felt odd not to have her chaperone constantly at her side though she supposed it would be a bit impractical and inefficient for the woman to follow her around the Hospital.

So far her tasks were mainly running errands, it looked like. She had just finished delivering some sort of report to one of the other departments and found that it was nearing her assigned break time. Catherine considered her options before deciding to spend it in the break room set aside for the hospital staff. She had avoided doing so the past couple days since she had started her internship but she supposed she would have to do so sometime. Might as well start today.

As soon she entered, she saw she was not the first one there. "Oh. Hello," the half-veela greeted somewhat awkwardly.

Tony had been here since six that morning; it was good, he thought, that Grimstones had never been very good at maintaining normal sleep schedules. Luckily for him, this shift only lasted until six that evening, so he'd probably be back to the house in time to have dinner when normal people had dinner!

And twelve hours was nothing compared to that summer.

He had a gap between patients - namely because all three of his were asleep - and had flitted into the break room with the intention of eating an apple. He was looking through the bowl of fruit for an acceptable one when the pretty new intern entered; Tony looked up and smiled at her.

"Miss Dalton," he said brightly, "Don't worry, I promise not to find something for you to do."

Catherine offered a smile towards the man - Mister Grimstone - and recalled the fact that he had only been a year or so above her in school. That made her a tad more comfortable to be in his presence than it would have otherwise. Which was nice since she disliked being tense around people she would be working with for at least a year. Hopefully longer if she was either not married or her fiancee/husband allowed her to continue.

"Thank you, Mister Grimstone," she said with a smile, vaguely noticing how impressive his height was. He had to be at least six feet! "Though if you do have a need for me to do something, feel free to ask. I want to be as useful as I possibly can be. Was your own internship as nerve wracking?" He had been in her shoes possibly just the year before which made her feel comfortable in asking him about his experience with it. Hopefully, he wouldn't mind.

Tony nodded with a bright, friendly grin. "Oh, absolutely," he said, because it was the truth, and he was not in the practice of lying to interns.

"I spent the first few months convinced that I was going to accidentally kill someone or break something or show up six hours late to a shift," Tony said, "Then I became convinced that my entire life was going to be consumed by the hospital and I'd just never leave." He was still a little bit afraid of the last one. At least he lived with Elias - he had to leave the hospital every once in a while, to hang out with / bother his brother.

"You'll get used to it, though," Tony said. Being an intern was very sink or swim, but she had to be committed if she wanted to start after the events of that summer.

Catherine could sigh at his confirmation, she had figured as much. Still, she could not truthfully say she disliked it. It felt good to have something to do in her idle hours that was more useful than deciding which tea to have.

As she listened to Mister Grimstone speak, Catherines eyes widened slightly in horror. What if she accidentally killed someone?! She was aware that people would die but what if she was the [cause or something? "Oh, I wouldn't mind never leaving," Catherine jested. She loved being at the hospital but she also rather liked spending time with her suitor. "I'm sure I will, everyone has been so helpful," especially the males, she had vaguely noted and she knew why but there was nothing much that could be done about it.

"I take it you only recently graduated from being an intern?"

Tony nodded with a bright grin.

"I wrapped up my internship at the start of June," he said. It felt like it ought to have been longer than that - or maybe like it ought to have been just yesterday, he could not quite decide but still felt as though five months was a somehow-innaccurate timeline.

Of course, he supposed that that was inevitable, given what had happened.

"Then - well. You know what happened this summer." All hell had broken loose. "Nothing convinced me that I ought to be a healer as much as that did." He had felt at turns useless and overtired, frustrated and exasperated, and incredibly, incredibly sad - but at times he had also felt more useful than he ever had. He had felt needed. Even if the cure had eventually been found by St. Mungo's.
