Tav practically gave a bark of laughter. Did Tessa pay no attention to the details of his life in the years they'd known one another? It was hardly any secret that his was a family of boisterous men - save for Vina, grams and ma - so surely she had to know that drink was never something they did without. Or maybe it had slipped her mind. Or maybe she was just being a bitch. Whatever it was, Tav decided then and there that going to see her was a good idea. It was easy to forget about Vera one's woes when someone like Tessa was fucking with them.

"Tessa Ah live in a castle crawling wi' large Scotsmen - we have a whole room dedicated tae whisky alone." Okay so he was (probably) exaggerating, but he was certain that the one thing the family could agree on was to never let the liquor cabinet go empty. When you had a family as large as his, you needed some booze or you simply couldn't survive.

She was, of course, aware that he wasn't exactly impoverished and if he drank as he did when he visited her then there had to be a hefty supply where he lived but she'd never really given much thought to it. Tessa took a sip of her drink and then reached for the bottle to top it up. With an exaggerated sigh, she spoke, "And here I thought we were friends and yet you've never even shown me your private liquor room." She shook her head in mock disappointment. She had only allowed herself to use the word 'friend' in relation to them due to the heavy tone of sarcasm in her voice. That said, she wouldn't at all mind raiding it.

"Worried I might meet some of the family?" She smirked at him, wondering what he had to say to that. She didn't know much about his family besides vague things she'd heard and vague things she remembered him mentioning but the chances were, his family wouldn't exactly approve of her. Even the lower classes looked down on those who were in her line of work, former prostitute or not.

Quirking a brow, he gave a slight laugh, "Aww, friends? Ye'll make a mans heart go crazy talkin' like that." He said it with amusement because she hardly ever said that word - even with a heavy tone of sarcasm. Not that he minded much, though. He knew they were friends. Even if in some weird dysfunctional way where they pretended to loathe one another more often than not. Well, she did. He was content to just annoy her.

"Ah ain't got a problem with ye meeting family. As a matter o' fact, ye can come over fer some whisky or what-have-ye any time." He said it with a noncommittal shrug. "Jus' be warned that my families a bunch o' loud, nosy people that won't give ye a moments silence." Then again if they told him exactly what her profession was that might shut them up. Or, in some of his brothers cases, might intrigue them even more.

    Tessa rolled her eyes.

"You're warning me about your family?" She scoffed. "Usually it's the other way around." It was rather amusingly backwards but she supposed it shouldn't really be a surprise from what she'd heard. "I'll make sure I'm extra thirsty when I drop by." Besides drinking back what he owed her which - she thought - was equivalent to a moat if one included the sex, she was also curious to take a snoop at the place he lived.
