JANUARY 14TH 1885
MRS. CRABBE IN CRITICAL CONDITION
BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN POISONED ![]() |
![]() On the morning of January 12th, Mrs. Frances Crabbe fell ill with what was believed to be a form of influenza. However, medicines have proven ineffective and Mrs. Crabbe's condition only worsened the next day. She was transferred to Hogsmeade Hospital later in the day and healers believe she is suffering from some sort of poisoning. Unfortunately, Mrs. Crabbe has not been well enough to explain what happened to her to cause such illness but it has been recently reported that her Lady's Maid has gone missing, which indicates that her sudden disappearance is more in line with a guilty woman absconding after her misdeed. Mrs. Crabbe apparently hired her Lady's Maid, _____________________________________________________________ |
Miss Bryant, shortly after the fire last summer and was of the belief she had pleasing references and was skilled at her job. It seems, unfortunately, that Mrs. Crabbe was very much mistaken in placing her trust in Miss Bryant. It is still not certain how she might have poisoned her mistress nor why she might have done so but it looks quite likely that she is the culprit. Mr. Crabbe was not available for comment, however, Mrs. Crabbe's mother, Mrs. Harriet Prewett had this to say: "I can't possibly think why anyone would want to harm my daughter. The whole family are in shock and doing all we can to support her." This is the second misfortune to befall the Crabbe family after the couple's young son was trampled by a carriage last May and nearly died. AUTHOR: IAN PENGLOSS |
