Quoth the Raven: No fucking chance

After the child and the odd one he had been quite ready to give up on the girls of Hogwarts and content himself with trying to see if the lovely Giulianna was free for a a quick spin the waltz. Then luck had struck with the appearance of the beautiful Miss Darrow and though he had been rather put out to leave her to her next partner he had immediately spotted a young lady who appeared to be at her leisure and crossed the floor confidently.

He had hoped that the ball would be a tonic to him. After a passable start with the sculptures he had intended to acquit himself well in the potion brewing and instead had been forced to endure the indignity of failure and public humiliation while children had gone on. The ball was his opportunity to lift his spirits again, he told himself, and nothing could lift his spirits as well as the presence of a beautiful young lady. Which this one certainly was - he held out his hand and smiled charmingly.

"May I take this dance from you Miss?"
