Tara Farley nee idk [1842] | Mother
Tara is Bohemian in every sense of the word- she actually grew up in the Germanic region, having been born in London, and has always lived a rather fluid lifestyle. As a teenager she moved back to London- Carkitt Market to be precise- with her new husband, a Mr Farley, who for whatever reason (Minuet has never asked) elected not to live with Tara and her children, long before Aunt Cleo came on the scene. For a while she worked as a musician but now Tara co-owns ‘The Hopping Pot’, a pub in the same quarter of London, though money is always tight- Mr Farley brought the residence as a late sort of wedding gift.

Piper Farley [1878] | Brother
Piper is actually Minuet’s full brother, and the reason she knows her father hasn’t totally abandoned her mother. He’s a chirpy lad, constantly underfoot, with a great love of potions already. Minuet is saving up so that he can complete his Hogwarts education when the time comes. Minuet’s mother often makes him tag along with her to keep him out from disturbing patrons of the pub.

Cleo ---- [1842] | ‘Aunt Cleo’
Aunt Cleo has been in Minuet’s life since she was about two-ish, and the fact she is in a relationship with Tara has never seemed particularly unusual to her. Aunt Cleo is rather outspoken and brash, but she does care deeply for Tara and her children, who may as well be her own.

Libba ---- [1870] | ‘Cousin Libba’
Minuet isn’t exactly sure what Libba is to Aunt Cleo- she might be her daughter, or niece, sister or cousin- but she, too, in Minuet’s mind, has just always been around, having arrived when Minuet was six. She waitresses at The Hopping Pot.

Appearance:

Minuet is her mother in miniature. She stands at 5ft and has a deceivingly slender frame that hides the fact she is surprisingly strong, something that mainly comes out when having to drag people from places, with rather tiny hands and feet. Minuet has dark skin and long black hair that whilst straight is rather thick and prone to breaking hairbrushes mid-stroke. Her eyes are a very dark brown and her smile wide, something accented by two pronounced dimples. Minuet dresses as neatly and well as she can, and is left handed. She often carries around a camera in the form of her pocketwatch.

History:

1864 | Minuet is born. Her mother is a violinist at a Music Hall, and as such gives her a musical name.
1866 | ‘Aunt Cleo’ comes to live with them in their apartment in Carkitt Market. Minuet can’t remember this, and growing up it simply seemed that she had always been there.
1870 | Cousin Libba arrives. Minuet is rather taken with the newborn, though she can never remember if Aunt Cleo was pregnant or if she was dropped off by someone, not that it really matters to her.
1871 | Minuet shows her first sign of magic, making Libba’s cradle rock on it’s own to keep the infant quiet.
1874 | As Minuet is approaching school age, Tara quits her rather unstable work and as a gift from her husband, comes into possession of The Hopping Pot. The pub is small (cosy!) and not exactly busy, but it brings in more revenue than performing. The family move into the rooms above it, which saves rent.
1875 | Minuet goes to Hogwarts and is sorted into Gryffindor.
1878 | Piper is born. Subsequently, funds run out and Minuet is forced to leave school. She is upset, but takes to working as a waitress at the pub with good will.
1881 | Libba turns eleven but asks not to attend Hogwarts, not wanting to move away even just during term time. She begins waitressing, which frees Minuet to begin work at Shutterbutton’s Studio, which is better paid.
1884 | Plague fire doom. The Hopping Pot actually gets busy(!) and takes on some lodgers who get stuck outside the quarantine
