Attica had to admit that the Pettigrew's had done very well with this event. The decor was enchanting and the evening looked like it was bound to be quite entertaining. Attica was dressed up in her very best and her blonde hair was done up simply but elegantly. Attica had no idea where the rest of her family had disappeared to but they were around someplace, surely.

For now, Attica was waiting for an opening to search the magnificent tree for the ribbon that would have her name on it.

Faustus had found his ribbon, tangled with one for an Attica Paxton. His own turned into a miniature dog very much like Rex that he was sure his children would love, but now ... "I don't suppose you know Attica Paxton?" he asked a nearby blonde.

Where was her ribbon? Had she been left out of this bit of fun? There were so many people, she wouldn't be surprised if it was so. Then a man next to her spoke to her and she gave him an appropriately friendly but warm smile. "I know her rather well for I am she," she replied lightly.

How very convenient! "It seems that I have found your ribbon!" he said, holding it out to her. "It came right off the tree when I retrieved mine."

"Wonderful," Attica stated. So that was where it had gone off to. She smiled gratefully as she took it from him and laughed in delight when it turned into a little music box. It was very lovely. "This idea was quite ingenious," she couldn't help but comment in praise of their hosts.

"I agree, Mrs. Paxton," Faustus said, taking a stab in the dark at the proper form of address. She seemed a trifle old to be yet unwed ... yet still young enough to have a certain air of youth about her. Quite pretty, really. "The music box looks quite lovely. The Pettigrews do seem to have put a great deal of thought into these little gifts."

"That they have. What was it that you got?" She asked, not having seen since she was seeking out her own ribbon.

Faustus held out the toy dog where Mrs. Paxton could see it. "I have Newfoundlands, so I suspect this is for my children." He wouldn't be surprised if Mrs. Pettigrew had picked it out for her grandchildren, or Thom for his nieces and nephews.

"Oh, how delightful," Attica replied as she took in the sight of the toy dog. "Do the dogs get along well with your children?" She had never thought on giving her own son a pet. Perhaps a dog would help keep him out of trouble.
