    Clean Breaks

@'Jacob Babineaux', hope the scenario is fine. XD
It had been a combination of lack of business in the Potion and Plant Poisoning ward and a lack of seniority on Zinnia's part (or maybe her sister's, since she couldn't really say which one of them had been supposed to be assigned this case) that had lead her to be assigned to heal a quidditch player's broken bone(s?). It was simple enough and she didn't at all mind the practice, and she greeted the patient in question with a smile as she came into the room where he was waiting for her.

"How are you doing, Mr. Babineaux? Other than the injury, of course, but that will be fixed in mere moments!" Breaks, especially clean breaks, were easy to deal with.

The only think worse than breaking an arm was breaking it in an unbearably stupid way. Being a Quidditch player meant that Jacob was no stranger to injuries, but those usually came during matches not as a result of practice. He'd been trying to catch a particularly tricky snitch and had slammed into a goal post in an attempt to cut it off. He'd nearly blacked out right then and only barely managed a rough landing. The pain in his arm and torso had been extraordinary, but the sense of embarrassment was worse.

Unsurprisingly, he was in a foul mood when the healer finally came in to greet him. The only silver lining was that she was rather pleasant to look at. "I've been a lot better, if I'm honest." Jacob shifted and grimaced. "How long is this going to take? I'm quite done with feeling wretched."

Zinnia patted her patient on his non-broken arm, smiling reassuringly at him. "Not long at all. A spell to make sure everything is aligned properly, a quick potion, and you'll be good as new! My name is Zinnia Rowan, and if you see two of me you're not seeing double, the other is just my twin." Pulling out her wand, she inspected the broken arm and started the careful spellwork to make sure everything was just where it was meant to be.

"Had we met under different circumstances, I would say it was a pleasure, Ms. Rowan." Having broken bones and bruised ribs was never the state one wanted to be in when making introductions. He shifted slightly and tried not wince as he did so. "A twin, eh? My younger sisters are twins too. Nuisances, the both of them. Tell me, do all twins go through a phase where they switch places to see if they can get away with it?"

"People still cannot tell us apart!" Zinnia said brightly, continuing to work on his arm. It didn't take long at all, and after a moment she was giving it one more look over to make sure that it was as it should be. "I think it's fairly universal, yes. What would you do if there was another one of you, so that no one knew which one of you had done something?"

"Really? I learned to tell my sisters apart out of necessity." Taking the time to learn the difference was preferable to being tricked by them time and time again. As she worked, the pain began to ebb and it became easier to focus his attention on other things, namely the woman in front of him. "Huh. Well, I don't think that I'd be able to resist trying to get away with all kinds of mischief. And, of course, it would be nice to have a mirror handy whenever I needed one," Jacob said, grinning.

"My parents can manage it, usually," Zinnia conceeded. "Marigold and Clover have more trouble." Their friends were another story; few of them could reliably tell who was Zinnia and who was Aster. She smiled at the observations, nodding as she started to mend Mr. Babineaux's bones. "Just so. And we have twice as large a wardrobe, borrowing from each other."

"Other sisters?" Jacob guessed. From the little he'd heard, it sounded like Miss Rowan might have a family that was about the same size as his. His family wasn't impressively large or notably small, but there was some solidarity to be found in fitting the average.

"I have to say, I don't know what I'd do with a wardrobe that was twice as large. I have enough clothing as it is." Enough men's clothing, that is. The other kind ... well, it was hard for him to procure it without looking suspicious, especially now that he was living with his family again. Maybe a twin would serve as a good partner in crime or understand how he felt. A twin might make things a bit less lonely in that sense. "You're lucky to have someone that close to you."
