The March weather was still a bit chilly in Lily's opinion but it was favorable enough for a walk. She was enjoying her time with her chaperon slash aunt as they conversed on various topics of their shared interests. She was quite wrapped up in it so it came as a surprise to her when she tripped over some sort of animal that had run across her path. She braced herself for a fall to the ground - only to find herself instead staring up at a semi-familiar face. Well, a face she had seen on novels before anyway.

Suddenly Jules was interrupted in his walk by the sudden presence of a young lady in his arms. It appeared she had tripped over something, and while Julian was glad to have saved her from a nasty fall he still found her going from walking nearby to in his arms to be surprising. "Are you quite all right, Miss?"

Despite not having fallen to the ground, Lily still rather felt like the wind had been knocked out of her. "Quite fine. I must thank you and your reflexes." She should probably also get out of his arms.

"Do you have your feet under you again?" he asked, smiling at the pretty young lady in his arms.

Lily was tempted to say no for #eyyy reasons but she was a lady so she did not. "I do believe so," she replied, taking a moment to steady herself before smiling at her hero once she was set to rights. "I'm Lily Huddleston."

As the young lady righted herself, Jules slowly pulled his arms away from her and fixed his balance on his cane. "Julian Fisk, at your service Miss Huddleston."

Julian Fisk? So that was why he looked so familiar! Her father had all manner of books and sometimes she indulged herself in a read or two. There was no concealing the look of recognition on her face but still, she wanted to be absolutely certain. "Julian Fisk? Author of Serpent of the Sands?" She inquired curiously.

Jules smiled when Miss Huddleston recognized his name. "That's me indeed, Miss Huddleston," he said, bowing dramatically over his crocodile cane. "You enjoy adventure novels?"

  

[Lily Huddleston]

"Yes,I do indulge myself now and then," she answered. "There's nothing better than being able to take a journey through one's imagination." Especially when it could be done safely from home where the gossips tongues couldn't wag and dent a ladys reputation. Still, the things he must have seen!

"I do agree," Jules murmured, smiling at the petite beauty. She had such beautiful dark eyes. "Have you read any of my other books?"

  

[Lily Huddleston]

"Quite a few," Lily admitted before rattling off the ones she had read which were ... most of the Julian Fisk collection really save two or three. "Anything new in the works?" She couldn't help her curiosity.

Jules chuckled, pleased to hear she had read more than half off his books. "I have one scheduled to come out in June," he answered, "and I'm working on another. If you need something to read in the mean time, though," he lolisted off the two or three books she'd missed.

It was a little disconcerting how attracted Lily found herself to be to Mister Fisk. It really had increased with talk of his stellar work! "Oh, I'll be sure to pick them up the next time I visit Flourish and Blotts," she stated. "Any chance of a hint as to what the plot for your newest is?" Lily fanned her face in an ever so slight flirtatious manner because VE flirting was her jam.

Flashing a conspiratorial grin at Miss Huddleston, Jules answered, "All I'll say is that this one is based a bit more closely on my previous career as a cursebreaker. I wouldn't want to spoil the novel for you." Was she flirting, or a trifle overwarm? He hoped she was flirting.

"Sounds exciting! I look forward to reading it. Are all your books based somewhat on your previous adventures?" Lily had no doubt that being a cursebreaker was probably terribly exciting. An auror, probably more so, but cursebreaking was a little less deadly.
