    Ingredients
    • Half a pint of rich custard
    • Half a pint of creamFour ounces of sugar
    • Four ounces of mixed candid peel
    • One teaspoonful of mixed pistachio nuts
    • A glass of any liquor or a little flavouring essence
Directions: When making the custard use only the four ounces of sugar, set the custard aside until cold then add the cream and flavouring, mix well. Half freeze and put in the fruit which has been cut up into small pieces together with the pistachio nuts and finish freezing; press lightly into a copper mould which has been standing in ice and salt. Cover with a tight fitting lid which should be sealed with lard and then embedded in ice and salt for several hours. When required break away the lard and remove the lid, dip the mould in cold or slightly warm water, turn out and serve. If the lid is stuck use a warm towel to free.

Witch Weekly is your source for all the events of the season! The Debut of Miss Ellory Pendergast!
The month of May always heralds the start of the new season, and with it the debuts of the newest young ladies to enter society. On May 10th, her nineteenth birthday, Miss Ellory Pendergast joined the growing ranks of fresh debutantes at a fantastic affair hosted by her elder sister, Mrs. Evelyn Abercrombie. The ball was held at the majestic Fort Lestrange, her maternal family’s ancestral home, and it certainly did not disappoint!

Miss Pendergast’s debut was a rousing success!

The event was tastefully decorated with a night sky theme that enhanced rather than distracted from the woman of the hour’s debut. The ballroom opened onto a fine terrace where guests could enjoy the night sky during a break from the dancing, as well as midnight fireworks to celebrate Miss Pendergast’s first evening in society proper. The birthday cake, a centerpiece of the evening, was nearly as tall as the debutante herself, adorned with a life-size spun sugar figure of Miss Pendergast that made charming small talk to all those who passed by.

As might be expected at the debut of one of Olivia Pendergast’s daughters, many notable figures of Wizarding society attended -- not least of which, of course, was the esteemed Mrs. Pendergast herself! Emma, Edward and Charles Macmillan were all in attendance, along with many other members of the extended Pendergast, Macmillan, and Lestrange families. Miss Hannah Echelon, a former Pendergast Rose herself, was also seen out for the first time she left mourning. The dashing Mr. Endymion Dempsey, recently featured in our pages, was also seen dancing with a number of young ladies.

All in all, Miss Pendergast’s debut was a success, and we wish her the best of luck as she faces her first season!

It's perfectly normal to feel nervous about your debut! Ask Harmony Aidsworth
    Dear Miss Aidsworth,

I will be finishing school soon, and I am beginning to wonder if attending Hogwarts' coming out ball is strictly necessary. After school, I plan to work, and I can't help feeling that it is a waste of money that my family could surely use elsewhere!

    Sincerely,
    Reluctant Debutante

    Dear Reluctant,

A debut is a young lady's introduction into society, a most important step into adulthood for any young woman of a certain station, regardless of her occupation--or lack thereof! Remember that your family only wants what is best for you, and trust that this is in your best interests!

    Sincerely,
    Harmony Aidsworth
