SWP #7 At last, SWP7 is upon us! Anti-halfbreed sentiment has been steadily growing over recent years, coming to a head with the introduction of a halfbreed ban at Hogwarts. What does this mean for the future of halfblooded students? Citizens? Of magical society at large?  Only you can help to determine that! Code: <img src="https://cdn.nickpic.host/images/IJD4uX.png" title="Took part in Charming's seventh sitewide plot" /> Anyone is able to take part in SWP7 in even a small way, but in order to earn the stamp that proves you’ve done so, you must complete at least three of the following during the duration of the plot: Complete a thread (10+ posts/3+ are your own) in which the halfbreed ban or things that result of it is the main topic of discussion. Complete a read-only or thread in which your student character discovers they cannot return to Hogwarts. Complete a read-only or thread in which your student character scrambles to procure the requisite number of grandparents Write at least three related letters or journal entries Attend (or stage) a protest or rally (5+ posts from your character) Submit a letter or editorial to the Daily Prophet Contact the staff with other ideas of how you might be involved—if they go for it, it’s all yours! (You may do the same thing twice to count as two!)

Halfbreed Ban The terminology of the halfbreed ban requires that every student be able to provide evidence of four human grandparents (human, not magical, so your muggleborns are safe!) in order to attend Hogwarts in September. This list is an inclusive “sorting” of affected students as of July16th, 2017, and will be updated intermittently. So the way I read that article was that students who are returning are doing so after Christmas, and then they'll permanently be a year behind their former classmates, correct? E.g. someone who would have been a fourth year this year would take third year classes next semester and start fourth year in 1888?

Yup! It'll be up to the students/families to decide if it's worth it to them.

For those going back, will former fifth years have to take their OWLs again? Or since they already got those grades, do they just take the classes again?

I don't think they should have to! Give 'em a nice break during exams instead ;)

— Students return to Hogwarts tomorrow—including those that got the boot for failure to prove full humanity! Anyone returning after their term in exile should post in maintenance to have their user group and title changed. Remember that they are re-doing the second half of their most recent year, not being placed in the year that matches their age. Fifth years do not need to re-sit OWLs, but may if they choose.
