The process of getting to the ministry had taken some work – as a centaur her couldn’t exactly go the public entrances in central London, but he had manged it, fluuing into the main foyer, where the fountain of the magical breathren stood proudly. He stood for a moment appraising it cooly, he found it strange that the wizard and witch should be sized larger than the centaur, when he himself towered over the witches and wizards who hurried around him. The adoring expression on the centuars face caused a snarl to mar his otherwise handsome features. Fucking wizards he thought, their arrogance knew no bounds, as though the centaurs admired wizards in any sense or fashion. It was absurd – but then he had never met a wizard who thought himself the equal of other life that existed on this planet – heaven forbid the talking apes should be equal to everyone else.
This foray was necessary however, the wizards current sanctions against vampires were forcing more and more of them into the forest as they failed to procure suitable accommodation in the village, as apparently no one wanted to rent to them anymore. While he tolerated (for the most part) the presence of full vampires in his forest, the half vampires which now sought refuge there were too stupid, too weak and too naive to be any match for the creatures that lived in the dark heart of the forbidden forest. The herd had come across more than one body in recent weeks.
Their ministry needed to control their people and stop littering his forest with corpses. Unsure of where to go, and generally disinclined to spend much time searching, he cracked his neck, causing a rather nervous looking witch to give him a wide berth. ’I need to speak to someone about vampires.’ he roared over the low thrum of noise, generated by busy people bustling to and fro. Silence descended over the atrium, and Aeror looked around for the person who would be brave enough to deal with his command

You can imagine Yarrow's surprise when the secretary entered his "office" and informed him that there was a centaur at the atrium. What? This wasn't supposed to happen. Well, Yarrow's job was supposed to be just that, dealing with the complaints of the centaurs, but he'd been assured that it'd never actually happen. His only centaur related business would be to sign some document every year, which was more protocol than anything. Yarrow didn't have an actual job beyond that. He sometimes helped the other Beast Division employees, seeing that he didn't actually have a job. Yarrow hated doing that, he'd much rather spend his work hours drinking coffee and reading newspapers and dirty magazines, but he also didn't want for them to move him to a department where he'd actually have to do work. It suited him just fine to be a "head" and to be paid pretty much the same as a regular Ministry employee who actually did work.
Shit, Yarrow had never actually seen a centaur in person.
"Sir!" he greeted, feeling immediately stupid for having used that on a centaur. What else could he use, though? 'Mr. Horse'? "Please, excuse my delay. I am Yarrow Macnair, Head of the Centaur Liaison Office. How may I be of assistance?"

The man who eventually answered the summons was a boy – Aeror was sure of it. He was fresh faced, and didn’t look like he was capable of growing under arm hair never mind a beard. By the north star, what age did humans start working their children? He wondered appraising the boy with a rather openly sceptical look. Aeror was tall for a centaur, and he towered over the young man by some considerable height. Despite his belief in the youth of the boy, he had no intention of ‘taking it easy’ on him, the wizards had made a child their representative, and he was here to represent his own people. They each had a job to do.
Aeror didn’t acknowledge the name given by the man-boy, wizard names were often ridiculous and complex anyway and he didn’t ever hope to see this person again so there was no point in getting to know it. ’Keep the half vampires out of the forest.’ he said, in a voice that was little more than a snarl, his tone was cold, his eyes steely as he stared down at the 5,9 man from his imperious height of 9ft. ’either keep them or we will begin dumping their bodies on the lawn of the school.’ he said simply.

The hell?
Centaurs were beasts - officially and all. Even if one was to argue that they were half human, their way of life was reminiscent of indigenous people. They trotted about half-naked and hunted with crossbows and overall hadn't bothered to live in a more civilized way of life. That their leader had come to the Ministry threatening that they would kill people was no surprise to Yarrow.
Yarrow had no idea that the half vampires were fleeing to the forests. There was a general distaste about them but surely it wasn't that dramatic? The centaur was making it sound as if all of Britain's half vampires were making a biblical exodus to the forbidden forest. There couldn't be more than about fifty of them overall in all of Britain, so it surely wasn't that bad.
"We can't do that, sir," Yarrow replied. He was pretty sure that the centaurs didn't own the forest - the entirety of it at least. Frankly, Yarrow would rather the half-breeds kept to the forest, where they belonged. "The forest is public property - it is meant to be a home for all creatures. There is nothing illegal about half-vampires going to the forest. What is illegal is murder and the trespassing of Hogwarts."

Aeror smiled down at the man child ’You misunderstand me gelding’ he said using the term that he often used to talk down to the younger members of his own herd, ’These deaths wont be on us.’ he said with all the usual clarity of a centaur talking to a wizard. ’and we don’t answer to the laws of wizards’ he reminded him, one of the benefits of their beasts status, was that wizards didn’t really expect them to toe the line.
’The forest is ours, the vampires infect it and we tolerate them staying in their caves like the rats they are, but the half breeds…’ he made a low growling noise in the back of his throats. ’They are your problem, and we won’t keep their bodies in our forest any longer.’ he stated assuredly. ’I do not ask you for help, I merely inform you of the course of action that I have already decided.’ Aeror pronounced, ’Do you understand man child?’

Yarrow blinked when the centaur referred to him as a 'man child'. He would not stand to be disrespected by some horse.
"Yes, you will not answer like wizards, seeing that you are not human," Yarrow replied in a cold manner. "But you will be dealt with like every other troublesome creature."

The petite girl had been heading back up to her office when she noticed the centaur- because frankly, in a room full of humans, it was hard not to notice one. Interested as centaurs never came to the ministry, she picked her way over, hovering for the duration of the conversation. She had already drawn blood from biting her lip when Mr. Macnair took personal insult at which she scurried up, unsure if she could even be much help at this point. She didn't know centaurs too well. She worked with goblins. She was part-goblin. Centaurs were foreign. Still, she felt she could have handled that better than the Mr. Macnair.
"Pardon me, sir, you already said their deaths wouldn't be on you - yet you say you already have a few bodies. Do you have any idea of what is killing them? If something is killing them, it is clearly a threat to us all." Centaurs were not fans of wizards, that she knew, nor were they fans of vampires - many things weren't - but she didn't think they would kill a half-vampire simply for being in the forest. Still, she was sympathetic to the halflings. She could understand wishing to escape when neither side accepted you. "And why are they killing them, do you know?"
iziza is a half-goblin, meaning she is quite short. your character might not know why but they will notice her height and white hair that marks her as such.
wonderful set made by tiff!
