Sanditon Regatta
Evening
Rosalind, love though she was, would try to calm her down; try to stop her doing anything foolish and potentially ruinous for all involved, but Serena was in no mood for sense. Luckily her lover was deep in an exhausted sleep after sailing earlier and over her still-charming snuffling in sleep she hadn't heard Serena slipping light-footed out of their cabin.
Her daughter was here! She had seen her from a distance, beautiful like she had been and so unmistakably hers that it had taken every ounce of the limited self-control Serena possessed not to hurl herself into the water to get her daughter's attention. She had held back - she needed to make a good impression after dreaming of this moment for so long. Cards and alcohol were two things Serena was exceptionally good at handling and as such she had opted to wait until the evening, when her expertise made her feel on steadier ground, to make herself known to her daughter.
Oh Merlin, she was so beautiful, Serena observed from behind a pillar, hovering by the French doors with a drink in hand trying to build up her courage. Theodosia was perfect. Utterly perfect. She didn't want to share her; wanted her daughter all to herself!
But how to get her alone...
