JUSTUS PILLIWICKLE FOR MINISTER DMLE LAWYER ENTERS RACE

Mr. Justus Pilliwickle, a lawyer in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, became the latest in a long line of candidates in the running for the Minister’s seat this afternoon. When speaking with The Daily Prophet, Mr. Pilliwickle was open about his humble beginnings. He came from a poor household and attended Hogwarts on scholarship for all seven years. After graduating in 1880, he began interning with the DMLE. He became a clerk in 1882 and was a fully fledged lawyer by 1885. _____________________________________________________________

On his decision to run Mr. Pilliwickle said, “I feel working class people need a candidate who will truly represent their interests and not just pay lip service to issues they think will win them votes. The Ministry isn’t meant to be a bastion of power for the wealthy, but looking at the candidates running - and those who have been elected in the past - it’s clear the needs of the less privileged are not a concern. Ordinary people should have someone who works for them in the office and I believe I can be that person. I know the law, I know how the Ministry operates, and I won’t rest while there’s systematic inequality keeping good, honest people down.” Mr. Pilliwickle also said his platform would align with his core socialist principles, but gave no other details with his announcement.
