Appearance: Matthew's most appreciated physical trait is his height. Standing at 186cm (6.1ft), he can be considered a pretty tall young man. His height fits his broad shoulders and generally broad body, and he'd probably be a bit of a chubby boy if he'd had the food. Apart from that, Matthew's quite a normal looking boy. His brown hair matches his llight brown little eyes, which always wear a rather sad smile look. His nose is perhaps a big larger than average, but he's got soft full lips. As for clothes, his lower class position won't allow him any choice - he will wear whatever he can. Most of his clothes where inherited from either his father or one of his older brothers. Most of them are full of patches. His wand hand is the right one. á
History: The Fairchilds had already five children when Matthew was born. This wasn't odd for a lower class family in 1852. Louis Fairchild was a labourer that had married Laura, a maid who worked for an upper-class family. She left her job once she became Louis' wife. They all lived in the city of Glasgow, where Louis and his three sons (including Matt) worked as labourers at a pub that was being built. However, at the beginning of 1877 there was an fire in the pub that caused the death of many workers, including Matthew's oldest brother. The owner of the property ran out of money due to the losses, so he fired all of his workers. Unemployed and sustenting three women, the Fairchild males had to look for somewhere else to live. The solution came when a young boy, who had moved to work as a gardener in the recently created town of Hogsmeade, proposed to court one of Matt's sisters. Having Elyse married with him, the Fairchilds moved to Hogsmeade a couple of years ago.
Nowadays they are settled down into their new home. Mr and Mrs Fairchild share their little house with two of their single children (Martha and Matt) and the newly formed family of their oldest living boy (John) and his pregnant wife. Matthew has found a job as a servant in the Sawyer's home, taking care of ill Mrs Sawyer and helping out young Juliet while she's not attending Hogwarts.
Personality: Innocence is Mattew's most defining trait. He always trusts what people say, despite all of the trouble it has caused to him. Also, he's sweet and patient, the kind of person that will let you his shoulder to cry on. Some say that his warm heart can be seen on his warm resigned smile.

Adabelle had been waiting for that family pic-nic for weeks. Dad had promised nearly one month ago that the four Blatt family members would visit First Beach together as soon as they got a rainless weekend. Belle had been daydreaming about building sand castles, playing badminton and looking for shells with her brother since then. The kind of sunny weekend they were waiting for arrived, but things didn't come out as they were planned. Gabriel, Belle's brother, was sick, so he would miss the trip to the beach. Of course, both parents û and even Belle herself û had proposed to postpone the pic-nic, but the teen had insisted in they going out. Everybody knew how hard it was to have a sunny weekend anywhere near Forks, so it wasn't a chance you could easily miss.
So there was Adabelle Blatt, sitting absently on the sand and regretting not having brought a book or whatever. She felt bad since she thought she was wasting the weekend she had been waiting for so much, but there was no way she could get any fun without Gabriel. Dad and Louise û she hadn't got used to call her mum yet, although she was married to dad, and perhaps never would û were the most boring adults in the world. They never wanted to play house. They got tired so fast if they had to run a little bit. Gabriel wasn't the king of sportsland either, but at least he had imagination and made her laugh. Belle loved her brother and felt so lonely without him.
During the meal, the couple had been speaking about Physics, which had let the child majorly isolated. It was sooo boring to hang around Physics teachers. "When I grow up", Adabelle thought as she ate her sandwitch, "I will marry a boy who will be very funny and will never get tired of playing with me!" . The apple pie Louise had cooked as a dessert had been the only bright point to the whole lunch as far as Adabelle was concerned. After it, the couple drank some coffee, which of course the young girl wasn't allowed to try. She had tasted it once, at grandma's, but she didn't like it at all. Belle didn't understand why adults always drank that horrible stuff while there were so many delicious ways to end a meal û such as cakes, chocolates and ice-creams.
Mmmh. Ice-creams. Come to think it, she did fancy and ice-cream. She wondered aloud why they hadn't brought any, and dad argued it would have melt. Stupid scientists, always with their techno babble... Then she asked if there would be any shop where they sold ice-creams nearby. Mr Blatt was tired of putting up with his daughter, so he handed her a couple of dollars and told her to ask in the souvernir shop. The girl hesitated for a moment, not feeling comfortable about talking by herself to the person in the shop, but afterwars accepted the deal. It certainly couldn't be worse than listening to her parents' chatter.
The walk to the shop was straight, so when she turned her head back from time to time she realised both dad and Louise were keeping an eye on her as they talked. That made Belle feel a little more secure as she moved her short legs fastly towards the shop. When she had already made almost half of the way, she could see a kwown figure sitting on a rock. It was a friend of her brother, a guy who used to attend the same school Gabriel did when they lived in Seattle. Adabelle's face quickly showed a big smile û she had seriously been thinking that she wouldn't see again most of the people she had met in her former city. Plus, Julie Chase was officially Adabelle's favourite friend of Gabriel. He was always nice to the girl û unlike some other teens. And mainly, being with an older boy meant not having to face the salesclerk by herself. Things were starting to turn out right. Yay!
"Chase?" ,she said while waving shily, remembering he didn't like to be called by his first name. Belle was definetely not a girl who felt easy around people she hadn't seen in a while. She needed her time to readapt. The palm of her hand, closed around the two dollars, started to sweat.
