Appearance: Evangie isn't particularly tall, being modest 5'5. Her frame is rather delicate and petite, nothing astounding, really. Her silhouette doesn't really differ from what a girl is supposed to look like. Much to her disappointment, she doesn't really have curves that she finds much more attractive that her tiny, thin body. Her face is widest at cheekbones, length and width do not differ much and her jaw is rounded, which means her face shape can be described as round. Her lips are pouty and big, kissable as she would sometimes joke. Not that there was anyone to try and kiss her, she was watched too closely. When it comes to her hair it has a black colour with a tint of auburn in it. It doesn't matter how hard she tries to tousle them or simply make a mess on her head, they always fall gently on her arms, like it doesn't listen to her. That always makes her kind of stressed. Her eyes are big, roundly shaped and green, though if you look closely, there is some shade of hazel visibly seen them. While her twin's eyes are more gentle (at least in Angie's opinion), her are mischievous, making her look like she's almost constantly up to something (not that it isn't true). They certainly do stand out from her pale face, paler even than the fashion requires.
Fashion and all that isn't her strength. Maybe, because she was always told what to wear and what not to wear. Deep inside, she would love to wear something extravagant, with bold colours. She knows she's not allowed to do so and it makes it exciting. There is always something in her outfit that doesn't seem right. Weather it's an accessory or something she had sewn to her dress to make it look less plain and boring. There is one thing she absolutely hates and will never wear it, even if threatened with death û corsets. The first time she wore one ended with her fainting, because it was laced up too tightly and the girl couldn't breathe. Since then, she refused to wear corsets, even when they try to force her. She was punished severely for that, because it was too much for the family, something they could not stand in young ladies behaviour and she, unfortunately is forced to wear them. However, she demands her corset is laced up less tightly, because it really works bad for her. Angie believes that the corset fashion was designed to torture young women or to satisfy some perverted men. Speaking of men, she would much rather like to wear what they wear. They can wear trousers, not those ridiculous dresses that she's forced to wear. Not to mention, they didn't have to wear make up like she did.
All of that gives you an image of how this young lady does not necessarily fits into a family with traditions like hers and she knows that well.
History: Evangeline, along with her sister, was born on a cold January night, during a blizzard. There was little probability that both of the girls will survive the birth, as their mother was of a very delicate frame. Somehow, both of the sisters made it and they were very healthy babies. Many people during Victorian age were afraid of the twins, but luckily, their parent's weren't and so they let both of the girls live. As soon as the girls were old enough to be taken away from their mother without causing serious damage to their health, they were given to a care of a nurse. Social status of her parents didn't allow her to truly bond with them, they rarely saw their daughter that very much wanted to just be held by her mother for a while. Ever since she was a little child, Evangeline would do things to make people's attention focus on her, in fact craving only attention from her parents.
When the girls were young, their maternal grandparents had died, causing them to pack up and move to Gavin Estates, which belonged to Audra, the mother. This was the place that Evangeline was forced to grow up in, though she wasn't really happy about that. Due to the lack of the parental attention, Evangeline did everything to make them see her. Even if it meant breaking the rules. Very soon she realized what a girl who's not carefully watched can do. Unfortunately, one day she was caught on adventuring and that's when the freedom ended. She was surrounded by nurses and governesses taking care of them, but they quickly changed. The girl did her best to make sure of that. There was only one governess she loved and respected, but for some reason she was let go, leaving the little girl heartbroken. However, she left her something before disappearing from her life. It was her who taught her to love books, cherish them and respect them. When the woman was let go, the books became Evangeline's best friends, as she couldn't open up to anyone anymore. The girl was afraid that if she does that, their parents will take this person away.
Somewhere between governesses she discovered that the more she breaks etiquette the more attention she gets. Since she couldn't get her parents to hold her and be with her when she had bad dreams, so she at least could make them see her in that way. So what it meant scolding her? It means they care! At least that's how Evangeline saw it. She didn't care what other thought, she didn't even care what her parents will think of her. It was much more fun to be the "bad seed". Contrary to Etana, who was always a good girl, she had curiosity that she couldn't stop, her adventurous spirit always wanted more and more. Evangeline was so lively that none of the people hired to take care of her lasted for longer than six months.
The sisters were kept as far apart as they could be, so when the twins joined their older sister, Eleora in Hogwarts, they were almost like strangers. The school meant freedom for Angie and with the first step she made into the Great Hall she decided to use it fully. Etana, like the rest of the family, was sorted into Slytherin, just like she was expected. However, when it was the time for Evangie, the hat decided to put her in Ravenclaw. The girl was well aware that she'll be one of the first to break the tradition and she was visibly proud of it. She walked towards the Ravenclaw table with her head high and a smile like she just won on a lottery. During her second year, the girl decided to try out for the Quidditch team and she got a spot. To say that Angie was delighted would be an understatement. However, it turned out that a proper lady does not play Quidditch and does not fly on a broom. Not to mention, a proper lady is not a beater in the team. So she was forced to quit the team and since then the family hired people to look at her when she's at school, not allowing her near a broom. Luckily for her, Eleora seemingly enjoyed her companion and took care of her little sister when she could.
Now, on her fifth year, Angie is still the same rebellious girl she was, but she learned to hide it better. Through the years, she developed some good acting skills, putting on a mask and only taking it off in front of her sisters. Her family is still not happy with what she does, especially because both of her sisters are now engaged and she's not. However, Angie does not seem to care much about it. Yes, she dreams about marrying for love, but that's it. For now being a wife and mother is the furthest thing in her mind. She wants to achieve something first. Will she be allowed to do so? Only time will tell.
Personality:
First thing you need to know about Evangeline, or as most people knowh her as, Eva, is that she is not a daughter that most of the parents would want to have. At all. She's not a porcelain doll and doesn't want to be one. Angel of the house? FORGET IT! She's not your girl! Angie isn't and never will be meek and powerless, that's just not her. This little miss Asperhand differs from most of the girls out there, feeling like she doesn't belong. She doesn't care about fashion or appearances, rather trying to make it show who she is than following others. You see, this girl was always original when it came to clothing or hairstyles and though she is carefully watched, there is always something that people taking care of her miss out and she uses that opportunity. She's a free spirit that can't be tamed, no matter how closely she's being watched.
Her rebellion is a way for her to get noticed. Angie started it to show her parents that she's there and she needs them. Deep inside, she wanted there attention, their love, though she would never admit to that. As a little girl she often dreamed of falling asleep being held tight by one of her parents, but that never happened. Instead, she had more strangers taking care of her and that caused her to close off from most of the people.
In reality, Evangeline is definitely a dominant personality, who hates when people say no to her. Angie hates when things get out of her control or just happen differently than she had anticipated. It makes her feel nervous and angry every time. Also, she's a very honest and truthful person, to her lying is awful and she would never lie to anyone, even if it could hurt them. For the girl even the worse truth is much better than lie. It's how she defined loyalty, and that was very important to her.
Evangeline also is very independent, or at least as much as she can be, and courageous. On the outside she might seem self-confident, a kind of person that doesn't have the word "doubt" in her dictionary, but in fact it couldn't be further from the truth. Many times, she looked at herself in the mirror and doubted in herself. She asked her questions "who I really am, why do I feel a need to keep rebelling?", but she never found an answer. Instead, she escaped to the safer world û book world. She read everything she could and always wanted more. From the very beginning she showed true intelligence and curiosity about the world that surrounded her. She came to everything with passion, often striving to see the true essence of things.
When it comes to sports, Evangeline would love to practice Quidditch, but since she secretly joined the team on her second year, she's not allowed anywhere near the broom, which broke her hear and made her spend even more time in the library, reading, trying to escape from the world or thinking what to pull off, to punish those who had hurt her. Yes, through those years her rebellion became a sort of punishment for her family. First for separating her from her sisters and not allowing her to bond with them properly and then for hurting her in some ways.
As for her relationship with sisters, she should be the closest with her twin, but somehow, she other than their telepathy doesn't feel the connection anymore. Sure, they used to be close a while back, when Angie snuck out to see her beloved twin, but Etana chose to be a proper lady found an older fiancee, stranger to that, Eva felt abandoned. She can't understand her sister and feels a little betrayed by her. Strangely enough, she managed to bond with her older sister, Eleora. She found that this sister tries to help her and understand her, not to mention her fiancee was certainly much more fun that the Christian guy which was engaged to Etana. Sometimes, Evangeline lets her guard down around Eleora and tells her about things that no one knows, seeking comfort in her, seeking a little of sisterly affection from her that she had always wanted. She does realize that her older sister acts a bit maternally towards her and accepts that gladly, because she just sometimes needs a little affection. Only a little.
Socializing - definitely not a strenght of Evangeline. You see, the fact she's never told a lie can be sometimes seen as rude. She never was afraid of telling some lady she looks ugly in that dress or anything of that sorts. That didn't exactly make her friends, but she could never understand why people have such a problem with the truth. Another thing that makes socializing hard for her is that she doesn't have she slightest idea about things that are talked about in the living rooms. She absolutely hates gossip and does not want to do it and has no idea about fashion or dancing, so what's left for her? Also, the girl never played well on any instrument, like most of the well-raised ladies should. Her manners were far from the best, as she could come late to a party, because she was "stalking a frog" (this are words actually used by her at the age of 5). Etiquette is something she understands and respects, at least the parts she finds reasonable. Others not so much.
There are several things she likes. One of them being Quidditch. She can't practice it, but that doesn't mean she can't show her support to the team. So what a proper lady shouldn't shout like crazy when her team is losing? You only live once! Not to mention, she hated losing and the loss of her team she took very personally. That's just the way she was, enthusiastic and vocal about everything. Perhaps even too much.
The dislikes are pretty obvious - stupid rules, corsets (HATES THEM WITH PASSION), lies but also - being ignored. The latter is probably causedby the fact she was kept away from her family and that had hurt her very much.
Another thing you need to know about her is that this girl is fascinated with muggles. She read every book she could about them and is very eager to find what is true about them and what is not. She thinks they are very interesting, though they might be a little behind the wizarding world. Ok, so a little might be an understatement, but still. Her curiosity doesn't know limits.
As to her most often used nicnkame, Eva, there is a reason why most people know her by this name. When she introduces herself to her schoolmate, the girl always uses the name Eva, because she thinks it's easier to remember say and whatever else you want. Plus, she wants to make friends, so why does she have to be formal everywhere? Why can't she be both formal and informal at once?
