    Esme Endicott
    #1
    In Character
    [Image: esme-app.png]
    Full Name: Esme Sophia Endicott

    Nicknames: Essie

    Birthdate: September 2, 1866

    Current Age: 16

    Occupation: Student

    Hogwarts House: Slytherin

    Wand:
Hornbeam — A wand for the obsessive those with a 'singular vision', hornbeam is well suited to Esme because of her tendency towards focused passion. Since she started school Esme's passionate nature has been somewhat focused on boys in general, and lately on Mr. Gervaise Ollivander, but when she matures some more that focused nature may be harnessed to serve her quite well. While Hornbeam wands also will not go against their owner's principles, that proves to be very little problem for someone with the 'whatever gets the job done' attitude that Esme possesses.
Runespoor Fang — While runespoor fang is a core for a practitioner of dark magic, Esme always cared more that the runespoor was used to symbolize the number three in the runic alphabet, and she is the third child.
Eleven Inches — Esme's wand is a very average length.
Unyielding — Stubborn and prone to doing whatever she needs to in order to get her way, Esme is well suited to an unyielding wand.
    Blood Status: Halfblood

    Social Class: Middle Class

    Family:
Preston Leland Endicott, 1798, grandfather — The patriarch of the Endicott family, Preston I has gotten meaner in his old age.
Beatrice Camilla Endicott nÚe Barritt, 1804-1874, grandmother — Esme has fond memories of her paternal grandmother, who died when she was seven.
Preston Leland Endicott II, 1826, father — A dark wizard, Preston II deals in necromancy and illegal dragon breeding. He only really has a passing interest in his children and lets them do whatever they want.
Briseis Ianthe Endicott nÚe Swift, 1838, mother — Briseis tried to be a good mother, at least at first. After a while she grew bored with her children and only really pays attention to them when they do something that sparks her interest.
Ava Lucia Endicott, 1859, sister — Esme thinks Ava is weak — why else would she have fractured when Preston II showed her death? Lucia, on the other hand, is one of Esme's favorites among her siblings and she rather looks up to the dark side of her eldest sister.
Preston Leland Endicott III, 1862, brother — Preston has always been horribly insecure, and while Esme loves him she quickly discovers that she could bully or blackmail him into fixing her problems. This usually required something like chasing off a kid she didn't like or taking the blame for something she did. Despite the methods she used to acquire his help, Esme came to depend on her brother.
Lydia Elle Endicott, 1868, sister — Adopt me and make me your own!
Sebastian Reid Endicott, 1871, brother — Adopt me and make me your own!
Appearance: At five feet three inches, Esme is neither particularly tall nor particularly short. She is slim, but developed womanly curves early. The presence of those curves, emphasized by her corset, frequently fools people into thinking that she is older than she really is. She has large brown eyes, lips prone to pouting, and long dark brown hair with something of a wave to it. Her skin is fair, and she works hard to keep it that way as she is rather vain. She wears the nicest clothes she can afford (or steal fabric for) and tends to alter her dresses to make her appear 'more womanly'. She despises her school robes because they are "the ugliest most unflattering things ever". She is right handed.

    History:
1866 — Briseis gives birth to her second daughter and third child on the rather unfortunate day of September 2. This means that young Esme Sophia will be nearly twelve when she starts at Hogwarts, but it is not something that anyone is concerned about that day.
1868 — Lydia Elle is born, making two year old Esme the middle daughter.
    1870 — Ava starts Hogwarts.
1871 — Sebastian Reid is born. Esme is now officially the middle child and not just the middle daughter.
1873 — Preston III begins Hogwarts and is sorted into Hufflepuff.
    1874 — Grandmother Bea dies.
1877 — The Endicotts are among the first families to move to Hogsmeade, although they keep their house in the country so that they can continue the illicit breeding of dragons and dealing in dark magic objects. Esme is furious that she cannot start at Hogwarts for another year.
1878 — Ava graduates; that fall, Esme finally begins Hogwarts. She is sorted into Slytherin.
1879 — Esme has her first crush on a professor. It does not last long, but is followed by a series of other crushes and infatuations. In the fall, In the fall, Lydia arrives at Hogwarts for the first time. When Esme returns home for the winter holidays, her father takes her out for the right of passage that will allow her to see thestrals — he uses the Killing Curse to murder a poor child that had been caught snooping around. Esme is not particularly effected by the event, which would have been worrying for a family less indifferent to their children's psychological well being.
1880 — Preston III finishes Hogwarts.
1882 — Over the summer Esme meets Gervaise Ollivander and instantly falls in love with him. For once she is still interested in him after they have been talking for a while lets him take her to bed. Losing her virginity to Gervaise only makes her become more infatuated with him, and when she has to go back to school she writes him letters whenever she has time. On Hogsmede weekends, she escapes the school chaperon the first chance she gets and goes off to see him. As a result of her distraction, Esme is doing worse in her classes than she ever has before.
Personality: For someone who is actually rather clever, Esme is incredibly na´ve. She falls in love easily and will not hear ill of any man she has fallen for — at least, until she is no longer in love with them. In the past her love affairs have only lasted a few weeks and never resulted in any real impropriety, but that was mostly because Esme didn't want to appear loose. On the flip side, Esme is very ruthless and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She's quick and good at problem solving, just not so great in the moral department or in her judgment of men.

    Sample Roleplay Post:
Esme, who had been writing in her pretty cloth covered diary, looked up at her roommate's angry words. "What's that, Tig?" she asked, not particularly caring that she really probably should be calling the younger girl 'Miss Baudelaire'. It wasn't like anyone was going to know that they were being a little less than perfect in their dorm room.

Really most of what Essie knew about the situation was that Tig was betrothed to some guy or other — probably what she was upset about. Esme would hate that; she was going to marry Mr. Gervaise Ollivander, and she was going to be Esme Ollivander. She had been signing her diary that way for months now — Esme Ollivander, with a little heart over the i.
