Nasty Traps

[Eva Sleptova]

With the last Hogsmeade weekend approaching, Eva figured it would be wise to ask her father for some pocket-money so she could buy a chocolate or two from Honeyduke's. There was also the Coming Out ball in the end of the month, though Eva was not sure if she wanted to attend as her aunt's death still seemed quite recent.

After lunch, she headed to her father's office. He didn't have any classes around that time, so she wouldn't have to worry about him being in a hurry. Strangely enough, she didn't hear any noise from his father's office, but she still knocked on the door nonetheless. Where else could her father possibly be?

By knocking on the door, though, she seemed to have activated some kind of trap, because a few seconds after, Eva was bathed by something that looked like green troll puke. A prank! It was obvious that it was intended for her father, but Eva was the unlucky one to fall victim of it.

She shrieked.

Maxine Wood was always a child that had a hard time sitting still, so it got her in trouble with some teachers. Like Mr Sleptov. He got annoyed at her quickly and she got annoyed at him. Even though Maxine wanted to be an auror or at least a hit-witch in the future, she just could not force herself to have a good relationship with the teacher that might make that impossible for her. He was so mean to her! He deserved to be punished. That was what Declan would do! At least Maxie thought he would û that was always her excuse when she was up to no good. Older brothers were always good as a shield to use, after all. At least in Maxine's head.

So after setting up a trap, the eleven year old hid and waited for it to be activated. Admittedly, hiding was hard when you were as tall as Maxine was (and admittedly, for her age she was quite tall, reaching 5'5 lately). However, when she heard a girl shriek instead of a man's voice she couldn't help, but to look out of her hiding. She got probably the next best thing û the stuck up Professor's daughter. Her face looked so funny that Maxie couldn't help, but to laugh for the first time since her mother's death.

• It was soon clear who had set up that nasty trap for her father. Some girl suddenly showed up and judging by the look on her face it was clear that she was behind this mess.
  
  "You--you" Eva started angrily as she pulled out her wand. She would use magic if necessary, just to make sure that this imp wouldn't be able to escape before her father came. "You will pay for this."

Maxine was very happy with herself. Professor Sleptov's daughter shrieked so delightfully! She looked so funny all covered in green that ruined her dress. The girl did not feel bad about it û the girl obviously had no sense of humor and so deserved to be covered in that thing. Professor Sleptov was a tough guy, so how could he raise such a porcelain doll? It was beyond Maxie. Mrs Etherium would have laughed and maybe scold her slightly, this girl went straight to threatening her. Maxine grinned widely when the girl drew out her wand.

"I'll tell your father what I did by myself if you tell me my name. Hint: It's not Rumpelstiltskin!" The eleven year old said, quite confident the older Slytherin had no idea who she was.
