Appearance: Leopold Trelawney is considered a man of extra-ordinary height despite the poor diet of his childhood, a trait he gets from both his biological parents and stands at six foot three. His build, once muscular from lifestyle and Quidditch is slowly degrading as the eighteen year old has not lead the lifestyle that requires or builds muscle since his graduation in 1883. He still feels lanky and awkward at times in his body but since becoming an animagi feels more at home in his body then ever before. He was born with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, traits also inherited and once thought shared with his Trelawney Siblings. He has never been particularly aware of his own appearance on women as his own position, previously the bastard child of a disowned woman, was never one that would inspire suiters and any attention recieved would be purely because of the actions of hard work. Of his features his strong, stubborn jawline, blue eyes and thick bottom lip are notable. He struggles to grow decent facial hair and more often then not is clean shaven. He is right handed and his clothing, once a collection of second hand clothes, bits and peices now is selected by others and looks quite smart though practical is more to Leo's tastes.
History:
1864 - Courtney Turnbulls's wife finally falls pregnant and he breaks things off with current lover Edna.
1865 - Melisandrine Turnbull gives birth to her first, and only child what should be a time of joy is ruined when the baby is kidnapped from the house. At the same time as the kidnapping the infant Leopold Trelawney dies and Edna Kerr has the brilliant idea to switch the babies in vengeance. The switch however is incomplete and leaves the Turnbulls with a mystery and the Trelawney’s none the wiser.
1866 — Abe is born to Freya Trelawney and Mr. A. E. Scott, and Freya appears to be about to get her happy ending when the young Sarah accidentally kills him with a broken wand. This appears to be the final straw for the grandparents, who cast Freya and her five children out of the house.
1867 - 1875 - Leo takes to following his nose and wandering as soon as he could stray out of his family’s eye and quickly takes to schedule that leaves him out on the streets all day and in by supper time. Acutely aware of the differences between his lifestyle and those wealthier he begins to yearn for a better life and begins to take on any chore that would earn him a quick penny. He quickly becomes associated with a wide variety of men - including those of the underworld (thieves, gamblers and smugglers), and more often then not would become involved in bets that would’ve have drastic results had he not been half as talented. Further freedom was earned when his elder sisters left for school though was quickly taken away when a game of Creaothcreann almost loses him his life and his identity is discovered by Edna who has taken to gambling. She introduces herself as a former classmate of his mothers and recruits (albeit reluctantly on his part) him into accompanying her. It is unknown to Leo that her motivations are less than pure it is infact guilt that is motivating her to help and educate the child.
1868 — Sarah goes off to Hogwarts.
1869 — Cassandra goes to her first year at Hogwarts, but Sarah does not return for her second year.
1873 — Miriam begins her education and is sorted into Ravenclaw.
1875 — His sister Miriam takes a summer job as a waitress, and Cass choses not to return to Hogwarts after completing her O.W.L.’s.
1876 — Leo’s mother Freya gives birth to another boy, but he dies within the day.
Leo begins attending Hogwarts himself and is sorted into Gryffindor, and after learning that one of his sisters motivations were financial (and pressure from those wishing to take advantage of her skills at divination) realises that to get anywhere in life he needs to excel at school and earn himself as much funding from outside sources as possible.
1877 — The Trelawney family moves to Hogsmeade. Cass begins doing some freelance work for Gladrag's Wizardwear and Miriam's continues to work in order to afford the Hogwarts tuition fees. Abe does not receive a Hogwarts letter and labeled a squib and becomes quite hostile. In November she gets a job as the maid at the Hog's Head.
His second year of schooling is not entirely pleasant and he begins to realise exactly how talented he truly is, especially compared to others and is forced to endure hazing from other students who are not pleased with this reality. He meets his first love, Rosalind Pendergast, during this year after a flying ‘accident’ causes him to become concussed.
1878 — Miriam starts working for Rosa Lee Teabag as a summer employee.
At thirteen Leo discovers, to his terror, that he is in love with Rosalind and recognises that even the dream of such is hopeless and chooses to ignore his feelings and instead manages to define end goals for himself where he can graduate after he takes his OWL exams and support his family.
1880 — His sister Miriam becomes the first of the Trelawney children to graduate, taking the opportunity to move out of home and and take an internship at Hogsmeade Hospital in the Artifacts Incidents department.
Leopold is made a Prefect in his fifth year. After completing his O.W.L’s Leo tries to drop out of Hogwarts in order to contribute to supporting his family but is talked into continuing after learning that with an extra two years of education he can achieve a higher paid job that would allow him to support his family better. He foolishly attempts and succeeds in becoming an animagus during the summer of his fifth year.
1881 — Leo solves the mystery behind the death of Mary Holmes, and is promoted to Gryffindor Quidditch Captain when girls are banned from participating, replacing Malvina MacFusty. He begins to secretly court Rosalind Pendergast, even proposing marriage to her at Christmas though their plan of eloping together is shelved when a snow storm descends on Hogsmeade.
1882 — After the Winter break Leo begins to have doubts about his relationship with Rosalind and makes the decision to wait until they both graduate. Leo is horrified to discover that his mother is pregnant again, especially after learning that the father is Sarah’s biological father. He gets into an argument with his mother where he learns that he too is the offspring of Jonathan Abbott and has trouble forgiving his mother for getting involved with the man for a third time, who this time has a young wife Sarah’s age. Leo doesn’t see his mother for the Summer as he is completing an internship underneath the Minister and she is partaking in the trail experience. He manages to save the Minister’s life by revealing that Elsbeth Gisella had taken polyjuice to disguise herself as the Minister and then managed to track the Minister’s true location down.
Leo is made Head Boy in his seventh year.
His mother gives birth to triplets in September, and Jonathan Abbott appears to get killed in an accident. His mother however appears to find love in the form of Jonathan’s cousin Charles-Jonathan and marries, though Leo is hostile to the whole situation as he doesn’t trust it though he tries to make the most out of it for his mother. He confides his plans with Rosalind to Edna and gets a rude shock when she reveals her own crimes against him and puts steps in motion to reunite him with his biological family, the childless Turnbulls. Leo finds himself struggling to deal with the concept but begins to accept it as his family appear to be moving on and no longer require him, especially with Cass taking a full-time job, Sarah’s marriage in the winter and Abe becoming engaged to Ezra.
1883 — He reveals the story to his family and is also told of his sister’s (Abes pregnancy) and her intents not to marry and gets so worked up he reveals that her biological father is dead and Abe severs ties. Leo takes out his fury on Ezekial and bullies the man into proposing. Leo’s story is revealed to the public and he is formally acknowledged as Courtney Turnbulls’ heir and steps are put in place to bring Leo back into his ‘proper place’ in society. He is told that he should avoid contact with his family but instead tries to keep contact, albeit discreetly. He graduates and is employed as the Juniour Assistant to the Minister, a job he received both due to his services to the Minister the previous year, though his new family’s influence was of no little consequence.
1883 - Charles-Jonathan Abbott dies after having a cookie jar fall on his head but in a twist of events the body of a man who appears to be Charles-Jonathan is also discovered dead in the basement. His mother flies the scene and attempts to live on the streets with her infants, on of which dies until she is court and tried for the murder. It is proven that she is innocent and that that her marriage to Mr. Abbott (for Jonathan and the Charles-Jonathan she married were the same person) was invalid as the man himself had committed the sin of bigamy and Leo determines that his feelings of unease about the man were well-justified. Abe gives birth to a girl in August, and Sarah and Freya both have girls in September.
Leo however is dealing with his own set of problems as he realises that he only took his current job because he felt he had no other direction in life and puts himself under stress trying to be perfect in a job that he isn’t sure that he’s suited for and only got because of unrelated achievements. He attempts to meet Rosalind at Halloween but a curse leads them astray and causes further damage to his psyche as he fears the man he could become as the curse forces him to become a vile callous man who becomes a man who hurts the ones he cares about. He recieves a letter in late 1883 from Rosalind advising him that her mother approved of her courting and that he could push his suit for their marriage and while that should’ve been good news he realises that he can’t marry her as he is currently and puts off a reply.
1884 - In February ‘84 he resigns from his position in the Ministry, after both his performance and health suffer and, not needing the money, was urged to take some time to find out what he wanted to do. He was abroad when friend, and former employer was murdered - and sunk into depression. His depression and melancholy did not go unnoticed those around him and after Freya's death and Sarah's departure it was arranged that he would accompany a friend of the Turnbulls and assist in his ventures.
1886 - Leo returns to Hogsmeade - his experiences having helped him mature from boy to man and more secure in his own identity and position in the world.
Personality: An extremely bright kid who is chivalrous and has a hero-complex, and will never break a promise even if it causes him inconvenience to do so. He values the virtues of chivalry, bravery, valour, strength and patience. He fears that he’ll become the sort of person who will taken advantage of others and is prone to overthinking situations.
