Appearance:

Promise looks much like the other members of her family, minus her father. She's short for a woman, standing at five foot even, and weighing no more than one hundred and seven pounds. She has a thin, yet curvaceous frame, which lets everyone know that she's not a child. Besides, her mature features and breasts doesn't let anyone question it, either. Promise had medium-length, dark brown hair that usually sits in waves on her shoulder, the strands ending when they begin to touch her breasts. It's brushed multiple times in a day, and she'll sometimes put a pinch of oil in it whenever it's dried out in the winter to make it appear shiny and healthy. Her eyes, too, are a chocolate brown hue, outlined by thick eyelashes, sitting in a narrow set on her face below her thick, dark brows. Promise dresses in the latest muggle fashion, usually a simpler version of what the upper class women are wearing. She settles for cotton rather than silk and satin, but she occasionally finds a cheap dress with a lace trimming. She prefers paler, pastel hues such as robin egg blue and mint green, though her usual mode of dress is in neutrals. Promise is right-handed.

History:

Promise was born the third child and second daughter in the Whitaker family on December 13th, 1863 in her family's nice-sized home in Glasgow, Scotland. While Promise's sister, Comfort, was too young to interact with her, her four-year-old brother, Chance, would spend his time playing with her and keeping her entertained throughout the day. In comparison to her other siblings, Promise was easy as pie due to the face that she slept through the night and chose not to cry most of the time. In 1865, Promise's younger sister, Serenity, joined the family, which is when things started to get tough for the family. Cornelius, the head of the Whitaker family, had lost his job at the magical hospital he worked at, and had to go without pay for a few weeks. Luckily, he was able to find work again in London, which he got to via portkey every morning. In 1867, the second son in the family, True, was born. He was a delight, but stood out from the rest of the family with his red hair. This was around the time that Promise showed her first sign of magic during Christmas time. The final child in the family, a daughter named Answer, was born in 1869 when Promise was six years old. Being one of the elder children, she was always expected to help her mother watch her baby siblings, though she didn't really want the responsibility. She turned eleven in the year 1874, but wouldn't be able to start Hogwarts until 1875 because her birthday was after September first of that year. One September first of 1875, Promise started Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw. Her older brother had been sorted into Ravenclaw, but her older sister had been a Gryffindor. In other words, she was completely clueless to which house she'd be sorted into. She was happy to join Chance, and got her year off to a good start. She took all her core classes, like all of the other first years, but she enjoyed her potions and herbology classes most of all. In Promise's third year, she adds Ancient Runes, Arithmacy, and Care of Magical Creatures to the list of classes she's taking. This was the year she started thinking about what profession she wanted to do in life in case she never got married—she loved Potions, Herbology, Charms, and Defence Against the Dark Arts, what possible career could she purse? After a few weeks of thinking about, she decided she wanted to be a healer. During this year, her family moves into their home in Bartonburg in Hogsmeade.. During her fourth year in 1878, she began to play on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team as one of the three chasers. She'd been tempted to play by her younger sister, who'd been sorted into Hufflpuff, to join in and play, too, and after a few days of trying to convince her, she did. It was one of her first real hobbies that included socializing with other students. Before, she'd only studied, read, and practiced brewing simple potions on her own. In Promise's fifth year, she dropped out of quidditch and spent the majority of her time on studying for the upcoming OWLs. She spent most of her time stressed out, even though her elder brother and sister told her she wouldn't have to worry—that she'd to fine; she didn't pay attention to them, though. She took her OWLs in the spring, and got the following scores to her delight: Transfiguration Charms Defence Against the Dark Arts Potions Herbology Care of Magical Creatures History of Magic E O E O O E A In the years following her OWLs, Promise focused on her dream more than anything. She would've sworn during that time that she belonged in Slytherin rather than Ravenclaw with her ambition, but her studiousness still showed her inner Ravenclaw. She put a main focus on her potions and herbology, wanting to go into the Potions and Plant Poisoning field at the hospital near her home. During the summer after her sixth year, Promise takes a summer internship at the Hogsmeade Hospital and starts to learn the basics of healing and taking care of patients. In 1881, Promise starts her final year at Hogwarts after finishing her summer internship and takes six NEWT classes. She tries to enjoy her last year with her friends, especially the ones who weren't in the same social class as her. In the same year, her mother and father start looking for a possible husband for her, but Promise argues, reminding them that she was a responsible girl who could find the perfect man for himself. She and her parents bickered for a while, but they eventually gave in. In the spring of 1882, Promise took her NEWTs and got the following scores: Transfiguration Charms Defence Against the Dark Arts Potions Herbology Care of Magical Creatures E E O O O E The summer following, she begins working as an intern in the Potion and Plant Poisoning department of the hospital and finds that she thoroughly enjoys her work. Because she got her parents off her back about finding her a husband right away, she's able to freely enjoy her job and not worry about any man coming into her life and taking her dreams away from her. She works as an intern for a whole year before she finally gets the position as an official healer, and by that time, her parents started pressuring her about a husband once again. Only to amuse them and for no other reason, she's started looking for a husband—specifically one who allows her to continue her job into their marriage.

Personality:

Promise is a very strong-willed, ambitious girl who doesn't like to be told what to do and how to do it. She wants to choose her own path in life, even if it means never marrying and having children of her own. She's able to support herself with the money she earns working as a healer, along with the money her father's bringing in the house. If one was to get on her good side, they'd see the outgoing, full-of-energy and bubbly girl she's always hidden from the world.
