    In Character
    Full Name: Findlay Shae Lanigan
    Nicknames: Findy (siblings only), Lanigan
    Birthdate: September 20th, 1856
    Current Age: 28
Occupation: Magical Maintenance, Hogsmeade Hospital, Musician
Reputation: probably ★★★ (3), musician and his mother had a shoddy rep
    Residence: Mill St, Slums
    Hogwarts House: n/a
    Wand: n/a
    Blood Status: half
    Social Class: lower
    Family:
Camille Du Bois | [1837 - 1884] mother, Camille was an African-American transplant to Europe who took to the ways of the “Gypsy”. She was a “seer” and told fortunes, though Findlay could never tell for real, but he assumes she is where his magical heritage came from. Died in the laughing plague of 84. Gives her children the surnames of them men she thinks are their fathers.

Róisín McCann | [1858] half-sister, “Dove” is the product of another fling during Camille’s stint in Ireland. She and her siblings assume she is a squib because she can see Hogsmeade, but has never displayed magical abilities.

Maggie McCann | [1859] half-sister, full sibling with Róisín.

Icarus Leos | [1861] half-brother, Camille had packed up Findlay and the girls from Ireland to float to the warmer climate of the Mediterranean, Icarus is the first child born there. Given the last name of a man with whom Camille and the kids lived with briefly Andras Leos.

Andromeda Terzi | [1864] half-sister. Andromeda is an oddly quiet baby, nicknamed Meda for short, she is extremely observant and nurturing.

John Piercy | [1867] | Johnny is the first child of a continued relationship with sailor Arthur Piercy.

Murphy Piercy | [1870] | Murphy is the last child of Camille’s long and illustrious spawning career, full sibling with John.

Appearance: Findlay stands at just above average at 5'9". His skin is dark for Scotland, but light considering his heritage. The offspring of an African-American woman and an Irish man, Findlay blends the two pretty well. His black hair is kept short and his green eyes stand out vividly against the rest of him. Findlay is often sporting some kind of facial hair, but cleans up as best he can for the quartet. He has a lean build and dresses appropriately for whichever job he is doing that day. He has two nice outfits for playing events, but the rest of the time it's what he can get away with or get his hands on. He is right handed.

    History:
[1851] | Camille Du Bois, a former southern slave, jumps on a merchant ship bound for Ireland after the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850 is enacted. A true ~free spirit, Cammy believes she would fare better on the other side of the pond. She lands in Cork that summer and never looks back. She quickly finds a roaming group of Gypsies and joins them using her “seeing” abilities (among other even less reputable skills) to earn her keep.

[1856] | Findlay is born after a New Year’s tryst with a man by the name of James Lanigan. He is given his suspected father’s surname.

[1858] | Dove is a squalling addition to the clan, the product of an affair with Marti McCann. Camille believes herself in love with him.

[1859] | Their affair quickly produces a second girl, Maggie. Marti is killed late in the year in a bar brawl. A heartbroken Camille picks up the children and finds them a new home in Greece.

[1861] | Icarus joins the brood, Cammy having found herself a new lover in Andras Leos.

[1864] | Andromeda is born, the girls fawn over their new sister. Camille thinks she belongs to Achilles Terzi, but she isn't sure as she's been

[1865] | A huge spat between Cammy and Andras over Achilles has the family returning to the United Kingdom.

[1866] | Now living in Ayr in southern Scotland, Findlay discovers an affinity for music, working as a errand boy in the streets, a local performer catches him watching day after day and offers to teach him the fiddle. Though he cannot afford one of his own, Findlay takes to the instrument almost immediately. He begins to learn about music from all over the world- but connects most with Irish fiddle tunes, perhaps because of his father's forgotten influence.

[1867] | John joins the family and quickly earns the place as baby and the nickname Johnny.

[1868] | Findlay receives a letter to attend some school called Hogwarts, but they can neither afford, nor care to send him.

[1870] | The last of Camille’s children born, a son named Murphy. By now Camille has settled down with Arthur, believing herself to be getting up in years and choosing to raise her children in one spot from now on. Arthur proves Findlay wrong by sticking around, though he doesn’t overtly trust the man. Maggie’s Hogwarts letter arrives, and Arthur explains the school, but Mags chooses not to go, thinking it utterly unreasonable, even though Arthur himself attended a few years.

[1872] | By now, Findlay has saved up enough to buy himself a second hand fiddle that he treats like gold. Though his is working at the shipyard thanks to Arthur, he can never quite push music aside. Icarus receives a Hogwarts letter, but again is not inclined to attend.

[1875] | Meda’s letter arrives and her quiet intuition tells her to go. The family scrapes up enough money to send her and she is sorted into Ravenclaw.

[1877] | Hogsmeade is founded, but this is of little consequence to the family.

[1878] | John chooses to at least give Hogwarts a try.

[1880] | Findlay visits Meda in the town of Hogsmeade. She chooses to end her schooling this year after some bizarre test called OWLs. She takes on a job.

[1881] | Thinking anywhere is better than home, Murphy heads off to Hogwarts as well. Meda has moved there for work and Findlay finds the place interesting, though he had never pursued magic before this. It intrigues him. This year he meets a woman named Isabella booth, a cellist. The two form an easy friendship based on music.

[1882] | Arthur passes away in an accident at the shipyard, the rest of the family decides Meda has the right idea and move to Hogsmeade. They are surprised to learn that Dove can be admitted, though she has never displayed magic like the rest of them. Findlay takes on a maintenance job at the hospital. John decides school is really not his thing, though he did try for OWLs, his father's death had him falling short.

[1884] | Camille succombs to the laughing plague, leaving Findlay in charge of all of his half-siblings.

[1885] | The opening of the Hogsmeade Memorial Ballroom leaves Findlay with the opportunity to play music about as professionally if he can. Together he and Izzy form half of the string quartet that play events at the ballroom.

Personality: Responsible; respectable; protective; a bit of a flirt; can be stubborn; slow to trust; affectionate; sometimes too serious; hard working; a bit of a romantic; enjoys stability.
