Appearance:

Zipporah is average looking. Jemima would have probably been considered prettier than her if she had grace equal to Zipporah’s. That is what makes Zipporah pleasant to the eye, her grace and swan-like posture, rather than perfectly sculpted looks. After all, it’s no sign of great beauty to have a slightly dimpled chin and a face ready to house blemishes hadn’t it been for potions only girls like the Keatons could afford.

Zipporah shares the fair hair of the women in her family, paired with a set of blue eyes. She resembles Monty and her father most where her facial structure is concerned. She’s five feet and four inches tall -- slightly taller than most girls, but not as tall as poor, unfortunate Jemima. Her build is otherwise average and she uses her right hand.

On the 18th of July, 1885, Zipporah gained a limp as a result of a troll attack. She now has a cane to help her walk.

History:

April 21st, 1863: Zipporah is born. Her mother picks the middle name Serendipity for her, for she is truly a pleasant surprise. After two boys, Catrin kind of wanted another baby girl.

1868: The first of the family’s third babies is born, Deborah. Zipporah displays her sign of magic by doing some magical shit.

1870: Tabitha is born.

1873: The family’s baby, Wentworth, is born.

September of 1874: Zipporah joins her three older siblings at Hogwarts! She quickly befriends the other upper class, half-blooded girls in her year.

September of 1876: Zipporah only picks Ancient Runes as an elective.

September of 1878: Zipporah returns for her fifth year as a prefect! Her friendship with one of her friends is strained due to said friend’s kind of passive-agressive reaction towards Zippy being picked as the prefect.

May of 1881: Zipporah graduates from Hogwarts. She only participates at the Hogwarts coming out ball due to her position as one of the prefects. It wouldn’t do to not attend when she’d be one of the first to descend the stairs!

July of 1881: During Zipporah’s private coming out ball, her father announces to everyone her betrothal to the son of a family friend. He wouldn’t let another daughter fall into the clutches of spinsterhood after poor Jemima’s numerous failed seasons. Zipporah acts like it’s the happiest day of her life, but she doesn’t actually feel it.

October of 1881: Mr. Douchebag Betrothed and his other come over for tea so the first plans of the wedding can be made. At some point, his mother asks Zipporah to entertain them by playing the piano. Zipporah of course agrees, and when Mr. Douchebag makes a rather loud comment about how Brahms is kinda terrible, it takes all of her self control not to cry on the spot. She cries in her mother’s arms later on and Catrin even approaches Cyril about it, but he only comments with something of the “Pfft, boys will be boys they like sports and pain and testosterone not the fine arts”.

December of 1881: The Douchebags are invited over for Christmas. During some game, Sanders accidentally turns Douchebag Betrothed into a toad. Zipporah can swear she caught him winking at her when the matter is resolved afterwards.

May of 1882: The plans of hers and Mr. Douchebag’s marriage is tragically postponed after his mother’s death.

Sometime in 1883: The Keatons move to Irvingly.

March of 1883: Mr. Douchebag’s old father marries a woman about Sander’s age. During the wedding (at which the Keatons are invited), Mr. Douchebag Jr. makes immature and annoying comments about how they should probably plan his wedding as well.

January 1st, 1885: Sanders is caught boning Mr. Douchebag’s step-mother (not the same as the one who asked Zippy to play the piano, that one died). He’s disowned, Zipporah’s betrothal is broken. She’s heartbroken over the first and couldn’t care less about the second. To the public eye, it’s the other way around.

April of 1885: Mr. Herschel Dawlish is picked over her father for the position of Chief Warlock. Cyril rants over dinner on that day on how it’s obviously all Sanders’ fault and how he would have totally gotten the promotion hadn’t it been for him.

18th of July, 1885: Trolls attack at picnic in Padmore Park. Zipporah gains a limp.

Personality:

1. “Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness.”
2. Serious, “The boring one”
3. Tends to fantasize about breaking the rules and talking back. She never actually does it.
4. Think of that Rachel Duncan scene (if you watch Orphan Black) where she has an internal tantrum but is super calm and collected on the surface. That’s totally a thing Zipporah would do/has done.
5. She often tells opinions that are different than her own. They’re usually based on who she’s talking with.
6. She sometimes feels unsure about what her actual opinions are.
7. Really sensitive.
