With her hair tucked up under a newsboy cap, Bessie made a reasonable representation of a boy. All right, so she was prettier than her cousins, but pretty boys existed. Besides, once she had been out for a while she always had some dirt or mud on her, which cut down on the prettiness some. Today she'd just come through the third floo of the day, and so she was covered in ash as well.
Running down High Street with a message tucked in the front of her coat, Bessie didn't see the person who had stepped out right in front of her. Bouncing off them, she landed on her rear and glared up at them. "Oi! Watch where you're going."

Winter did enjoy a good walk around Hogsmeade. In the summer, she would usually have a book with her, and if she found an adequate spot, she would often stop to read said book. However, today she was simply getting some air.
All was peaceful and calm, and relatively incident free, until Winter walked out onto the High Street. She felt an impact, and her blue eyes searched around her to discover exactly what had hit her. The source of the collision soon became clear as a voice alerted her to a child on the ground, and it now seemed clear that Winter had knocked him over when stepping out in front of him.
On closer inspection, Winter decided that she wasn't entirely sure if the child was a boy. If they were, they were a relatively pretty one, that was for sure. However, females could tuck their hair up into a cap easily also.
"Merlin!" Winter exclaimed, kneeling slightly in front of the child. "Are you hurt?"

Bess quickly hopped to her feet, then straightened her cap and whiped the back of her hand across her nose with a sniff in a way that generally helped convice people she was a boy. "I'm fine, Missy, but I've got work to do! People do work out here," she admonished, giving the older girl a stern look. She wanted to just dart on, but some of the better to do folks got all twisted if you didn't wait to be dismissed.

Boy. The child had to be a boy, right? As a girl raised with a little brother, Winter hoped that her judgement was right. If it wasn't... well, that'd be awkward. However, even the boy's stern look didn't faze Winter. What if he was hurt and just didn't want to be rude? Winter couldn't bear it if she had hurt a child.
"Are you sure you're okay?" she asked. And then, "Do your parents live around here? If you're hurt, you should go and tell them."
