Blizzard finally ceases
Four Day Blizzard Dumps 6 Feet of Snow ![]() |
![]() As many gathered in Hogsmeade on New Year's Eve to celebrate, things took a turn for the worse when the fireworks display--meant to ring in the new year at midnight--produced not merely a colorful light display, but a snowstorm that drove many for the nearest shelter. White-out conditions were reported within minutes of the blizzard's start, and both the Floo Network and Apparition soon became either impossible or unpredictable. The snowstorm finally ceased today, having lessened steadily over the past few days. The Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes is currently looking into the matter. _____________________________________________________________ |
As of yesterday, the storm had died down enough for apparition to be possible again for those trapped in Hogsmeade, or those wishing to get into the village, allowing many to return home after three days trapped by the storm. In total, the snowstorm left about six feet of snow on Hogsmeade village. Clean up crews are expected to take at least a week to clear away the snow from roads and paths, due to the sheer volume.
