    Ligeia Baudelaire vs. Reuben Crouch
    #1
Though it was hardly a new rule, the witch still was uncertain how she felt about men and women dueling against one another. It seemed, to Astrid, both impractical and unchivalrous, though it was hardly her business today to judge the fact.

After her triumph against Antigone, Ligeia was in a good mood and had confidence that she would be able the man on the other side of the stage. Ligeia sent a spell that would give Mr Crouch octopus legs.

Ben knew, of course, that men did compete in these duels, but it was starting to feel as though he was the only one in a sea of female opponents. Was that just his luck, or were there really more women competing than men?

He cast a deflection charm, having no intention of letting her spell anywhere near his legs.
