Appearance:

Cameron couldn't be considered the most attractive man in Hogsmeade, with the dirt-covered tattered clothes he walks around in. He's of average height, standing a little under 5'10'' and he weighs no more than 150 pounds. Without his clothes on, Cameron's ribs and spine is easily visible, and his skin is covered in scratches and bruises that he got from living in the slums. He has a distinct facial shape, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones, and and his wavy, raven black hair stands out against the washed-out, pale skin. He has thick, dark eyebrows, almond-shaped brown eyes, and a long, pointed nose. He doesn't use his wand often, but when he does, it can be found resting in his right hand.

History:

September 18th, 1859 | Cameron is born on a warm summer night to his parents Ashley and Georgina Durand. He wasn't expected to live until morning, due to a severe chest and lung problem, but he somehow managed to survive. Georgina had been born into the upper class, but she married down to the lower class after she fell in love with her husband, Ashley Durand.

December 15th, 1864 | The Durand family welcomes their first daughter into the household, Mary-Anne Durand. She had a twin who died shortly after birth from complications. Cameron's brother, Ashley Jr., was jealous of the attention that Mary-Anne was receiving, but Cameron was happy to have a little sister.

April 1868 | After getting overly excited about his mother's fourth pregnancy, Cameron shows his first sign of magic in the form of lifting silverware off the table. He was so excited about being a wizard, and he taunted his older brother who had yet to show signs of magic.

July 31st, 1868 | Cameron's younger brother, Frances Durand, arrives in the family. Cameron was often annoyed by the loud crying and tantrums that Frances made -- his little sister never had those when she was a baby. During this year, Cameron gets closer to his younger sister, and often spends a lot of his time showing her new hiding spots and playing board games with her.

September 1st, 1871 - May 1872 | Cameron went to Hogwarts, two years behind his older brother, Ashley. His brother was a Ravenclaw and highly intelligent for a lower class child, so his parents had high expectations for Cameron. Cameron spent his whole first year devoted to trying to impress his parents. Of course, this didn't work out too well, because even though he was literate and smart, his brother was more studious than him. He made few friends during his first year, partially because he was so shy. He returned home from his first year disappointed because he hadn't gotten perfect grades.

October 1875 | During the fall of his fifth year, Cameron's father, Ashley, dies of tuberculosis. With the family having no income, Cameron decides to drop out of school to help his mother generate income. He gets a job as a sweeper at a small restaurant in Diagon Alley, and lives this year of his life in misery, knowing that he'll never be able to get a good job, and that he'll be in the lower class for the rest of his life.

1877-1883 | While Cameron continues to work as a sweeper, his older brother finds himself graduated, with five NEWTS, and he quickly becomes the favorite son in the Durand family. This upsets Cameron because he was the one to drop out of school to help support the family while Ashley. stayed in school. He angrily left the family home, telling his mother that she can depend on Ashley for support from then on, and he went his own way. He moves to Hogsmeade, where he still sleeps on the streets, in dark alleyways and alongside the walls of buildings during the nights. Cameron secures a job as the shop scrubber for the Owl Emporium, and he barely generates enough income to keep himself fed and clothed.

Personality:

KIND | No matter how tough times can be, Cameron always greets everyone with a smile on his face. He tries to avoid putting someone down and speaking negatively, though sometimes he has a bit of a problem staying positive. He never lets his troubles get in the way of how he treats others, and he feels that one day the kindness he shows other will come back to him.

SHY & SOCIALLY AWKWARD | Cameron has a tendency to be a bit awkward in conversation, often stuttering and stopping unexpectedly in the middle of a sentence. There seems to be a permanent blush resting on his cheeks due to the fact that he seems to embarrass himself on a daily basis. When talking to someone, he's usually the listening, giving a nod or saying "mmhmm" every minute or so, and if someone asks him for his opinion, he sit there and stutter, not sure of how to phrase his response.

HOPEFUL | Living in the streets of the slums for years, one would expect to be completely and utterly hopeless of any positive outcomes in the future. Cameron tries his hardest to work hard, so that maybe one day, he can escape his bad financial situation. A complete romantic, Cameron dreams of marrying a sweet, down-to-earth woman one day, but he knows that he won't be able to marry and raise a family unless he learns to make some sort of a living. Whenever bad memories or hopeless thought emerge in his head, he tries to sit there and think of all the positive things that have happened to him over the years, even if it's someone as simple as someone giving him a snack to eat.

Sample Roleplay Post:

It was just before closing time in the Owl Emporium, and the streets were packed with wizards and witches that he assumed were purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school year. Dressed in a tattered white shirt covered in a light layer of brown dirt, with small holes down the torso, Cameron held on tightly to the broom, sweeping it across the wooden floor. He didn't work long hours at an important like some people did, hence the reason why he didn't make a lot of money. He had to do the job that no one else wanted to do -- scrub the shop from front to back, sweep up pellets of owl feces off the floor, wash the windows, and whatever else his boss wanted him to do for the day. No, he didn't hate his job -- it was a job, and it brought income.


His mind traveled back to many years before, the day he separated himself from his family. He remembered the look on his mother's face as he yelled at her about her other son, his brother, Ashley. Why was Ashley the favorite son? He never offered to help mother support the family -- no, he just avoided the financial problems by staying at school. Nowadays, he regretted the decision to drop out of school to work, because his older brother had moved himself from the lower class to the middle by earning five NEWTS and getting a job as a ministry employee. He didn't remember the last time he saw his brother. Now that he thought about it, it might have been more than a year and a half. Though he hadn't spoken to his brother, he'd had conversations with his sister-in-law, and he'd met his young niece, Hattie, around the time she was born.

Cameron was snapped out of his thoughts as the high-pitched bell rang on the door to the shop, and he watched a woman dressed in fine silk with her young daughter walk into the shop. From the back of the room, he could see the extravagant design of their dresses with the fancy patterns and lace sleeves. He envied people like them to a certain degree. They never knew the real troubles in life, like hunger and dehydration. No, there troubles were purely social, with a small scandal every once and a while. He shook his head, directing his vision towards the ground as he swept. Glancing up quickly, he could see the fair-haired woman give him a look of disgust as she realized what she was doing. Bitch. He'd like to see her live on the streets, go without breakfast and lunch, have little water and tattered clothes. Maybe then this job would look like a good one.
