APPLEBY HEADS THE LEAGUE |
T his month's official league rankings have finally been released: 1. 1140 - Appleby Arrows 2. 1060 - Caerphilly Catapults 3. 1030 - Puddlemere United 4. 990 - Hogsmeade Howlers 5. 980 - Pride of Portree 6. 930 - Chudley Cannons 7. 880 - Falmouth Falcons 8. 760 - Holyhead Harpies 9. 760 - Tutshill Tornadoes 10. 720 - Kenmare Kestrels 11. 710 - Wimbourne Wasps 12. 590 - Montrose Magpies 13. 410 - Ballycastle Bats 14. 270 - Wigtown Wanderers _____________________________________________________________ |
It will come as no surprise to anyone that Ballycastle and Wigtown are still at the very bottom of the league - but if Ballycastle has another good match, they may very well manage to oust the Montrose Magpies! The current tie between Holyhead and Tutshill will no doubt prove to be interesting over the coming month, with both teams having had a shaky season so far - they could fall or rise in the rankings and it's very difficult to tell. Caerphilly and Appleby, which have an extended history of being excellent teams, are placed in positions where they will no doubt be in fierce competition for the rest of the season. It would not do to forget about Puddlemere, either - though their match against Falmouth was a nightmare for Puddlemere United, they are usually much more solid, and it would be ill-advised to write them off.
