He was married. He was married, and Jasper thought he'd have felt some sort of significant difference, but if such a feeling was forthcoming, it hadn't reached him yet. It was a very strange thing to think about, though, even though he'd had several months now to get used to the idea, and even though he'd had every intention of getting married in the relatively near future anyway--assuming he'd have found a bride who suited him, of course.

The newly minted Mrs. Montague would, probably, be fine. At least, the few times they'd interacted at this point had been pleasant enough. As annoyed as Jasper had been at his father for arranging the match without consulting him at all, as if he were a child, at least his father hadn't chosen someone who would immediately offend his senses.

Not that it truly mattered what he thought about it all now, of course. It was done, they were married, and it would probably be all right.

That said. There was a particular part of married life that needed to be addressed, preferably sooner rather than later. Not that Jasper thought it would be a terrible inconvenience--if nothing else, he'd been blessed with an especially pretty bride. Thank Merlin--but well. It was a delicate thing regardless, wasn't it?

Jasper was standing outside his new wife's bedroom, having given her a respectable enough amount of time to do whatever it was she needed to do--a lady's evening absolutions were a mystery him. Suddenly feeling a bit awkward and unsure of himself now that he was there, he raised his fist and knocked lightly on the wood.

    @'Georgiana Montague'
    @'Handsome Whitledge'

I'm assuming if they go on a honeymoon, they left on a different day. XD

Georgiana knew that she was fortunate to have secured a husband in her first season—unlike many of the other ladies she knew—but at the same time she was disappointed that she'd had little time to acquaint herself with her groom and form a fully-fledged opinion on him.

She knew a few things about him, among them being that he was a Slytherin, that he worked as a healer, that he was the youngest and only surviving of his brothers, and the fact that he was incredibly attractive. If she had had some sort of emotional attachment to him, she might even feel jealous if she saw another woman eyeing him.

She'd been left alone in her new bedroom for a set amount of time, and she'd taken advantage of it, scoping the room out to get a look at all the nooks an crannies while also preparing herself for what she expected to be an awkward and painful evening. Her father had subscribed to the idea that she was an innocent flower and should be left out of the know of the deeds of a wife, but her mother had thought it best to at least explain in the lightest of terms what to expect.

A knock on the door caused her to freeze, and she immediately looked up at the entrance to her room. She assumed it was Mr. Montague rather than the maid, so she smoothed her nightgown and sat on the edge of the bed. "You may enter," she called in a voice just above a normal talking tone. Part of her knew that she had to submit and be a pretty, dutiful wife, but part of her wanted to test her new husband and see how determined he could be when it came to their wedding night.

Jasper entered the room, feeling a little bit silly, truth be told. In retrospect, it would have been better, probably, if they could have gone into this at least knowing each other a little bit better. Theirs was hardly an unusual arrangement, of course, but that didn't make it any less awkward. Though at least he had some experience in this particular area of married life.

"I hope the room is satisfactory," he said, somewhat conversationally, mostly because he wasn't sure how else to begin. He didn't actually give a fig about the room, as she could probably do what she liked to it. Assuming she didn't secretly have absurdly eccentric tastes. He would have to look at it occasionally, after all.

As her new husband entered the room, Georgiana didn't let her eyes leave him. She watched him carefully, as if she was searching for any sign of weakness, any lack of masculinity. The air in the room was awkward, but that could simply be explained by the fact that they both knew why he was here. Perhaps he wasn't as nervous about the actual act as he was about initiating it with a woman he barely knew.

He'd probably had enough practice with the Hogsmeade whores, though she wouldn't make any assumptions as of yet.

"It's lovely," she said pleasantly, her eyes glancing around the room for a moment before settling back onto her handsome groom. "Though I do doubt that I'll spend much time in it. Mother says she's going to introduce me to the life of a socialite once our society absence is over," she explained, her hands smoothing the sheets on the bed beside her.

"Good, good." Jasper nodded. The last thing he wanted was a wife languishing around the house with nothing to do. That sounded like trouble waiting to happen.

With that, he had run out of small talk, which Jasper supposed was for the best, all things considered. At least this need only be so awkward once. He hoped, anyway. Clearing his throat, he said, "I'm... er... not sure how you've been prepared..." Please, dear Merlin, let someone have explained something.
