    Late August 1887
Today was the day! Molly had been begging for Papa to take her to Ollivander's ever since her Hogwarts letter had arrived, and now the day had finally come! Molly practically barreled into the store, leaving her father in the dust behind her as the bell on the door tingled with her arrival.

"Hello? I'm here for a wand!" she called out eagerly. It was early in the day, so the shop was looking rather empty -- clearly they were the first ones there!

Merlin, how had this girl waited until the end of August to get her wand? Gifford sensed her eagerness as soon as she entered the shop. Then again, one didn't need to be a legilimens to see it. They could hear it in her voice.

"Let's get right into it, then!" Gifford said with a smile. He walked to the back, before returning with several boxes. He set them on the counter and then opened two of them. He procured two wands, which looked almost identical. And they were in everything but their wood. They both had a phoenix tail feather at their core, they were eleven inches tall and were slightly springy.

"Dogwood or aspen?" he asked the young redhead.
