    Mr. Podmore,

    [Pleasantries, etc.]

To the purpose of my writing, though—I have a number of investments in my portfolio, but few, I think, that do any true good in the world. To that end, I have long considered making such an investment in St. Mungo’s, and with my dear wife’s interest in magical beasts, your division seems an excellent direction. That we might better get to know one another before money is placed on the table, though, I should like very much for you to join me for dinner—I have attached a number of dates my wife has indicated would suit.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Llewellyn Cadwallader

    Mr. Cadwallader,
I consider it an honor that you would take interest in our department at the hospital. I am available at your earliest convenience. I look forward to having a chance to chat about the hospital and for you to get to know the department a little better.

    Thank you for your interest.
    Most Sincerely,
    Sydney Podmore

    Mr. Podmore,

I must apologize, for I did not anticipate the demands of the Christmas season or the budding winter. It appears that, in fact, it will be the latest of our dates—that of January the 5th—that will indeed suit. I look forward indeed to your company, and do apologize for the confusion for it surely does not make to an auspicious beginning for our acquaintance.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Llewellyn Cadwallader
