Current Age: 25

Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw æ67-'74
Wand: willow, 6", hippogriff talon
Blood Status: Pureblood
Social Class: Middle class
Family:
She co-owns Twilfit and Tatting's with her identical twin sister, Mrs Tatting
Appearance:
Lydia is 5'6", of a curvy but thin build. She has brown hair, and hazel eyes. Her wand hand is her right, and she always makes sure to have her wand close at hand. She considers clothing to be a very important part of her day, considering she runs a clothing store, putting on her best appearance is important for the customers. To this end, she is always at the height of fashion.
History:
Lydia was born a twin, the only children of their comfortably middle class parents. The girls were instructed in the delicate, feminine arts that they'd need to someday marry, hopefully to a higher station than they were at. Both girls excelled at sewing and needlework, especially, but Lydia considers herself dreadful at anything to do with music.
In Hogwarts, Lydia was thrilled when she and her sister both were sorted into Ravenclaw. She stayed close by her sister much of the time, being mostly too shy to interact with the other children. However, it was in the classroom where she began to shine on her own a bit. She absorbed all the information she could in her classes, and ended up with good scores, even serving as prefect from her fifth year on.
After Hogwarts, her sister was fairly quickly wed to Mr. Tatting, but this did not change the sisters' desire to go into business together. However, Lydia, being unwed, spent a few years attending events and trying to get attention as a marriage prospect, while also teaching a few children out of her parent's home to raise some money. She had no luck on the marriage market, with only one extended courtship that fell through.
Four years ago, Hogsmeade was founded, and it seemed the perfect opportunity. The two women pooled their funds and were able to purchase a little shopfront on High Street, where they opened Twilfit and Tatting's. They designed and created all the garments in the shop. In the years that followed, the shop has gained a good reputation for original designs, thus attracting a high class clientele.
Lydia isn't sure she'll ever wed, at the rate she's going it seems unlikely. It doesn't bother her, as the shop is her livelihood and brings a lot of joy to her life, as does her sister, and her sister's two children. She currently is living in the flat above the shop, which she is grateful for - if not for it, she'd probably be living with her parents and trying to save enough to buy her own home, which is not easy to do for an unmarried woman.
Personality:
Lydia is an introvert, she always has been. She stays close with her family and a few other close friends she made at Hogwarts, but that constitutes most of her social circle. She can be very shy when it comes to people outside of her circle, but within it, she is lively, warm, and caring. She's very loyal to friends and family, and the hat even considered Hufflepuff for her before deciding on Ravenclaw. She is very academic, of course, being a Ravenclaw, and she got good grades in Hogwarts and still spending most of her free time not occupied by sewing to reading. She is skilled with finances, which she has had to be because of being on her own.
She is enthusiastic when she is passionate about something, like she is about clothing and fashion. When she gets excited, she tends to talk a lot, and very fast. She considers fashion a way to express her personality without having to come out of her shell too much. Her store has given her more confidence in speaking to strangers, as she must interact with customers on a daily basis. While she still prefers the creative parts of her job, she is far more confident in the storefront operations than she was when she started her business.
When she is upset, she can withdraw into herself and not be around for a few days. She doesn't want to be unpleasant to be around, so she just chooses not to be around when she is sad. This has caused some misconceptions and misunderstandings where people think Lydia is angry with them when she is really not.
Patronus: red panda
Boggart: a man repossessing their storefront for non-payment
Amortentia: Old books, fresh baked bread, her sewing room
Sample Roleplay Post:
Her sister wasn't in right now, so Lydia was working the outside of the shop. A girl walked in with her mother, upper class by the looks of them. It was the beginning of summer, so perhaps she was a new debutante updating her wardrobe for the prime courting season. Lydia smiled and walked over to them, and the mother explained what her daughter was looking for. "Oh, I think I know a few things that would be just great for you!" Lydia told the daughter, looking over her figure to see what would be best for it.
Lydia brought out her catalog from under the counter, knowing the mother would probably want to special order custom gowns. She turned through the pages, pointing out gowns as she went. "These are from the summer collection," she began as she did so, "Even though they look like they may be stifling, we've in fact enchanted the underskirts with a cooling charm so that you can get the full skirt in the back all the ladies are wearing, without near the discomfort."
"I think the greens will look great on you - oh, Gryffindor colors for school functions? - well, I've got some golden tones here that would work well, and this does have a red underskirt, that I think would turn heads." These were all prototypes, and most likely the girl would want something changed. "And of course we can make any of these in a different color. Now, let me just take you over here to get your measurements..."
