Ruby has never worked in anything but the classiest brothels and she dresses like a woman of the upper class and takes great care in maintaining her appearance. With hair that borders on strawberry blonde and purposefully rosy cheeks beneath her dark grey eyes, Ruby has soft features in her oval-shaped face and just a dusting of freckles. She has every appearance of an approachable young lady, and she is, but don't let that fool you. She smiles easily and bats her long eyelashes to get she wants, but once you fall under her spell it's hard to get back out. She is right handed, though claims she can used both hands for some pretty dirty tricks.

2.27.1859 | Valerie Tuesday is born to a single, lower class mother who passes shortly after her daughter's birth. Her mother is a muggle and Ruby still does not know if she is a muggleborn or halfblood.
1864 | She spends the first few years of her life in an orphanage in Rennes, France. At a mere five years old Valerie fends off a fellow orphan who is teasing her by hurling blocks at him when he comes at her. She is taught the basics in reading and writing. She enjoys reading immensely as a nice escape from her reality. The bully never tried anything again and neither says anything further on the subject: Valerie does not want to get kicked out of the orphanage after all.
1866 | Valerie is "adopted" from the orphanage she has been raised in to work in a lace textile mill. Proving to be a quick learner, Ruby astonishes many by her adaptability. She learns to run sewing machines and looms as she ages.
1869 | At ten now, Valerie is hired by a frequent customer of the mills to work in the house in the kitchen. She becomes fascinated by the upper class lifestyle and vows some day that she'll have that for herself.
1870 | Her acceptance letter for Beauxbatons arrives, though she quickly dismisses it as she has absolutely no money to go.
1874 | Managing to squeak by for a few years without any incident, it isn't until Valerie finds herself in a compromising position with the master's middle son that she learns something she's innately good at: men. They have a short-lived, love affair that ends the first day she is late to chores and they find her in his bed later that morning. Val is unceremoniously thrown out of her position onto the streets with no letter of reference or more than her last payment and the clothes on her back. She'd been saving though and was a smart girl. She knew what to do with herself after this. She'd always been confident and therefore really had no issues with selling her body to get what she wanted.
1875 | Val spends a year in the South of France, far from her hometown, living off what she'd saved, though it wasn't a glamorous lifestyle by any means, she enjoys the freedom of it. This is the year she decides to drop her first and last name and pick up a nickname she'd earned and now goes exclusively by Ruby Tuesday.
1876 | Now seventeen, Ruby finds herself to be an adult and able to perform magic. What she doesn't have is a wand or the know how to use it. Low on money, Ruby decides Paris might be fun and hitch hikes her way there. Brothels aren't hard to find, though she does her research and finds a classier magical one. All of her time spent studying upper class behavior does her well and she finds herself a cozy spot and comfortable again.
1878 | She is finally able to purchase her wand and learns a few useful spells, though she finds herself reading in her downtime to really learn magic. A Englishman in town on business for several months becomes a regular of hers and teachers her some English, enough so that she can converse socially.
1881 | Ruby has by now established herself as one of the top harlots in her current brothel. She likes to be in charge, quietly keeping tabs on the other girls, offering advice as well as admonishment. She is as much a mother figure to the younger girls as she is a disciplinarian. Her talents lie in first timers to the brothel, though is also skilled in several other areas in the bedroom. She can play any part; the seductive mistress; the timid virgin; Ruby wears many masks and wears them well.
Late 1883 | Looking for something or someplace different at this point in her life, Tessa Van Patten rolls into her life at exactly the right moment and Ruby is intrigued by the woman's high class "tea shop" farce.
