While during the day he spent time giving house points and studying for the latest exams, he spent some nights wandering the corridors, making sure the students didn't leave their dorms and common room. He'd had yet to personally catch someone wandering at night, but he was sure that his fellow prefects had caught some students. He currently stood in the corridor opposite from the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room, watching down both ends.

In that moment, he saw a shadow pass out of the corner of his eyes. "Hey! Get back here," he said, following them. He could see a small light that looked like a candle being held down the hall, and he wasn't about to let them get away. He made it down to where he was less than ten feet away from them, and suddenly recognized the hair. "Why are you out of your common room at this time of night?" he asked, slightly annoyed that the student wouldn't follow the rules.

Harvey had been out doing rounds, which he rather enjoyed most of the time, when he suddenly remembered an assignment due tomorrow for Arithmancy that he had yet to finish. Probably because it was mostly done, but it wasn't done, done and he should probably finish it if he wanted any kind of a respectable grade on it. That said, he figured he should also get it done sooner rather than later, and hadn't found any troublemakers in the halls during the half our or so he'd been out there. It seemed a respectable amount of time to get something done. Besides he was pretty sure there were other prefects roaming the halls tonight.

He was speed-walking through the corridors back toward the Hufflepuff Common Room, he was just passing by a lit torch when he heard a voice shout his direction. Harvey stopped abruptly to find the source of the holler, and before he could stop himself (Harvey was only a little full of himself when in full Head Boy mode) countered with a very serious, "Excuse me?" Though he clearly couldn't tell if whomever it was knew who they were addressing or not.

Oh, it wasn't a—Oh. It was the head boy, Mister Beauregard. Flinching at his own mistake, he looked up at his housemate and superior, an apologetic look written across his face. "Oh, Mister Beauregard. I apologize, I thought you were someone else. I didn't notice it was you from down the hall," he said, biting his lip. Luckily enough, Andrew wasn't the type to get devastated over simple mistakes, and he would bet anything that the head boy would forgive him for his mistake. Besides, he was just doing what he was supposed to be doing.

Bingham seemed to realize who he was talking to and Harvey couldn't decide if he wanted to be a bit of an ass or not. He really didn't have anything against the kid, so far as Harv could tell the guy was doing the job position right, which meant the Head Boy probably shouldn't be a terrible twat. In reality, it was good that Bingham was out do patrols so Harvey supposed he wouldn't be a jerk about it.

"S'alright." Harvey conceded with a little shrug, dropping the tone entirely. Truthfully the seventh year wasn't even sure he'd ever had a full conversation with his fellow Hufflepuff. Then again Harvrey didn't often venture outside his own little social circle for much. He was a friendly kind of guy, sure, and had plenty of acquaintances, knew a lot of people by name, but that didn't mean he really knew them.

"Everything alright out here tonight?" He asked, figuring he may as well do his own job right for a bit.

Still in his pyjamas, Evan slipped out of bed. His wand was exactly where he'd left it on the nightstand, when he'd pretended to fall asleep. Tonight was an important night. Holding his wand in his left and a crumpled note in his right, Evan sneaked out of the dormitories and entered the chilling corridors. The note was intended for Clarissa of course, though it didn't say so on the paper. Just a day ago he had mustered the courage to write her what he couldn't tell her, what he shouldn't tell her unless he wanted to cause her much grief and agony. Yet it was there. Three simple words. I love you.

For days he had worked on this, even going so far as to enchant the note to drop into her bag by itself. The trouble was, it needed to be closer to her, much closer.

"Lumos," he whispered, heart drumming in his ears as he began to make his way down the cold, stone stairs. All he needed to do was get to the dungeons, enable his enchantments on the note, and everything would sort itself out. Clarissa was probably smart enough to recognize his handwriting, or so he hoped. If she managed to get the note. If he succeeded.

Two shadows was all he saw as he came around a corner. Shit! "nox," he breathed, hoping the two figures hadn't seen the wandlight.

Andrew had the kind of personality where he constantly worried about what others thought of him. His group of friends consisted of the other sixth year Hufflepuffs, along with his beloved fifth year puff Jamesina. The last thing he wanted was giving the head boy a reason not to like him. "I haven't seen anyone... yet," he said, his voice trailing off as he heard the soft sound of footsteps around them.

"Wait a minute," he whispered, glancing back around the corner. He saw the faint shadow against an unknown light in the back. As he tried to focus on whoever was out there, the light suddenly went out. "Hey, who's out there?" he called, holding up his wand. Andrew had constantly been attempting to perfect the use of nonverbal spells, so he was able to light up his wand without even casting the lumos charm.

Harvey nodded. It was often quiet out here round this time. He could count the time he'd actually caught people sneaking off or goofing around on one hand. That time with Cillian didn't count because he'd managed to stop her before she could redecorate. Plus it was amusing as hell. She was a bit of an evil genius and if couldn't pause to appreciate that there was something wrong with him.

It seemed though, that he'd jinxed himself (metaphorically of course) and somebody was in fact out in the halls besides the two of them. Bingham jumped before he did and therefore he sat back and waited to see if there was in fact anybody there or if Peeves was up to something. That bugger was starting to become the bane of his existence. Harv really hoped it wasn't Peeves, he wasn't in the mood to deal with the poltergeist right now of all things.
