Appearance:

Standing at exactly 5’ in height, Grace is petite without being abnormally short. Her frame is a delicate one, and her long black hair is exceptionally straight and sleek. She has dark, tilted eyes and full lips. Her skin is very fair. Grace prefers pastels, and dresses serviceably while splurging on pretty (yet durable) fabrics and trims. Grace is right handed. History:

Pre-Birth — In 1853, Violet Chang married Mr. Albert Tillyman. The marriage didn’t go well, and two years later during a fight with the mean-spirited bully of a man she lept into the fireplace and, sobbing, declared, "I want to go to Mother's house." Due to the lack of clarity of her words, she wound up instead at the home of Mr. Myron Otherhaus, a handsome man living in Bury St Edmunds. The two fell in love immediately. The Daily Prophet ran a series of articles about Vi’s disappearance, but she was more than happy to stay with the love of her life instead of returning to the bully she’d married. Violet remained in seclusion so she could stay with Myron. In ‘57 the couple had their first child, Love, followed by Patience and then Noble.

1865 — A fourth child and third girl is born to Violet Tillyman and her lover, and is named Grace. Partially because the couple is in love and would be wed if they could, and partially to keep Violet’s location a secret, Grace (like her older siblings) is given the surname Otherhaus.

1868 — In late May, a boy named Concord is born. Grace’s eldest sister, Love, goes off to Hogwarts.

1870 — In the spring four year old Grace shows her first signs of magic by mending her favorite doll when it is broken by her almost two year old brother.

1871 — Over the summer, Justice joins the Otherhaus family. In September, Patience goes to Hogwarts.

1873 — After achieving her OWLs, Love is done with her Hogwarts education. Noble goes off to Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw.

1874 — Mercy, the final Otherhaus child, is born.

1875 — Violet’s husband dies and she finds no need to go on hiding. In what the Daily Prophet calls “the most notorious case of accidental misdirection in the history of the Floo Network”, Vi goes public with her story. For the first time the seven Otherhaus children meet their maternal relatives, and Grace particularly likes her Aunt Qiu and her cousin Li. In December (feeling no need to mourn a man she has not seen in twenty years) Violet finally marries Myron.

1876 — Patience also achieves her OWLs and finds an occupation.

1877 — Grace joins Noble at Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw as well. Her cousin Li Chang is in the same year, but sorted into Hufflepuff.

1878 — Noble achieves wonderful scores on his OWLs and by the end of summer has convinced his parents to allow him to stay (on full scholarship!) for his NEWTs.

1879 — Concord joins Noble and Grace at Hogwarts, and for the first time the Otherhaus family has three children in school at once.

1880 — Noble graduates and immediately puts his NEWTs to work.

1882 — Grace achieves excellent OWL scores and takes up an internship as a mediwitch at Hogsmeade Hospital. She falls out of close touch with Li, who remains at school on scholarship. Justice goes to Hogwarts. In December she moved to Hogsmeade with two friends from her year in school, Meg Spring and Katie Kahn, although Kathie insists they call her Porter. With Meg and Kathie working at Honeyduke’s and Grace’s income as a mediwitch (which status she achieved mere weeks before the move) things are in Grace’s opinion quite comfortable.

1883 — Katie takes a job as the Secretary for the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry.

1884 — Concord leaves after his OWLs and starts working. Over the summer, Aunt Qiu’s husband dies.

1885 — Grace is quite alarmed by the ministry collapse and the escape of several convicted murderers. Her youngest sister is due to start Hogwarts in the fall.
