OCTOBER 4th 1885
Gingerbread house in Bartonburg
homeowner selling pieces of house to interested buyers |
Residents of Bartonburg awoke this morning to a rather surprising sight. The home of Mr. Allan Zograf, which the previous evening had been perfectly normal, had been transfigured into one made entirely of gingerbread. One neighbor, who stopped by the house to see if everything was all right, confirmed that the furniture had been transfigured as well. Was this some sort of terrible prank? Or perhaps some accidental magic gone impressively wrong? It appears that Mr. Zograf did this to his house on purpose. _____________________________________________________________ |
When questioned, Mr. Zograf would not explain why he had done this, but instead announced the gathering crowd that, should any of them want "some quality gingerbread," he would be selling pieces of his home, for five knuts an ounce. At this time, no one has taken Mr. Zograf up on his offer, though if it is any consolation to those considering, those present that knew Mr. Zograf assured us that he has not previously shown signs of being completely mad.
