    Letters to Home

Fern wasn't selling today so by all rights, she should have been back home helping to take care of the apartment and her mother.  Instead, she had sneaked out early that morning, taking the letters that she'd been receiving from Gabriel with her.  It was probably strange to some, but she just wanted time alone to read them.  The only way that she knew that she would be able to have that was if she went to the Leaky Cauldron.  Her mother never found her there.

She'd slipped inside the room sometime early in the morning.  Since then, she'd lost track of time, tucked away in her corner.  She'd wrapped up her body as best as she could so that no one could see her green skin as she read over the letters that she had.  Gabriel's letters.  She read them over and over.  They were her lifeline to her little brother.  And she feared that one day it would be all that she had of him.  If he was sensible he would see to himself rather then worrying about her and mother.  But he was a good boy.

    Far better then they deserved.
