History:

Pre-Birth | Audric Gaunt is married to Ottoline Gaunt, his second cousin. The marriage is arranged and love does not exist between the couple. In fact, Ottoline is quite afraid of Audric, who is known to have a ferocious temper.
1870 |  Marvolo Fioravante Ophiuchus Gaunt is born. Ottoline dies hours later due to excessive bleeding. Audric is left to attempt to raise his son alone. Mrs Araminta Pluthero, a neighbour and pureblood, who lost her child during birth, acts as Marvolo’s surrogate mother and nurses him.
1872 | Marvolo speaks his first word, and it is in parseltongue. Later that year, Marvolo’s cousin and betrothed, Morgana is born.
1875 | Marvolo gains another cousin. Being five, he's not particularly interested in babies, or Morgana, really—just snakes.
1877 | Marvolo’s youngest cousin is born. He begins to understand what it is to be betrothed and shows a little more interest in his intended, especially since she proves to be a parseltongue, too.
School Year 1881 - 1882 | Marvolo leaves for Hogwarts and is sorted into Slytherin, as to be expected. He heard rumors of Slytherin’s basilisk and decides to hunt for it during his free time. He has little success. He joins the Dueling Club for sport and the Potions Club because he’s awful at potions. Although clever, Marvolo doesn’t particularly like to apply himself in certain classes. Even so, none of his grades fall below Acceptable. He receives a scholarship for his second year.
School Year 1882 - 1883 | Marvolo returns to Hogwarts and continues his search for the basilisk. His potential as a duelist rises, though he proves to be a bit overly aggressive with his spells.
School Year 1883 - 1884 | Marvolo begins his third year with zeal, choosing CoMC, Ghoul Studies, & Ancient Runes as his OWL electives. This is also the year that Morgana joins Marvolo at Hogwarts this year and is sorted into Slytherin. He’s quite excited about her joining him. His grades improve and he is offered a scholarship for his fourth year.
1884 | The Laughing Plague strikes Hogsmeade. Audric contacts the illness and dies before the school year begins. Marvolo is crushed by the man's death. He moves in with his uncle and family.
School Year 1884 - 1885 | Marvolo returns to Hogwarts for his fourth and final year at Hogwarts. He struggles through the year as he suffers bouts of depression and rage. His grades start to drop and, by the end of the year, he decides to not return to school. (With his failing grades, he's not offered a continuation of his scholarship anyway.)
1885 - 1886 | Marvolo begins working as an employee at the Dervish & Banges. It is not his ideal job, but at least his bosses are purebloods. Working at D&B has been good for Marvolo. It has kept him honest and out of trouble, especially with all those Sneakoscopes in the shop.

Personality: Charming. Clever. Savvy. Loyal. Sensitive. Moody (manic depressive). Vain. Proud. Resentful. Hot tempered. Insomniac. Violent at times.
